Recap of what happened in the last chapter: Cammie proposes for another exchange between the Blackthorne Institute and the Gallagher Academy. The only difference from the last time is that this one is a competition between the two school. Zach and Cammie are confident their school will win. The categories is a sparing competition, a series of academic tests, and the students chose a singing contest for the last category. Macey and Zach talk leaving Cammie curious to what the conversation might be about.

Chapter 2

"What were you talking to Macey about?" Cammie asked Zach before he left with his students. Smirking slightly he pointed to himself and said, "Spy."

She rolled her eyes at him and punched him in the arm softly (well softly for a trained operative).

"I'll find out one way or another." Cammie told him. He nodded starting to walk away. He paused to kiss her on the cheek calling out that they should meet up in the P&E barn to train together. Cammie smirked at the distant figure of her fiancé. I'm so going to win.

There were several ways for Cammie to get the information she wanted. She could put some truth serum into Zach's water when they trained. (That was one of the more complex ideas). Another idea was to interrogate him subtly although he would catch on pretty quickly. There was the option of honeypotting him to get the information. However the easiest choice (and the one she went with) was asking Macey.

"I made a bet with him that when you guys compete with each other in the singing competition, you're going to win." Obviously there were several things wrong with that sentence. First of all Cammie didn't even know she was helping the students, in her mind most of the work would go to her friend while she supervises everything else. Then there was the fact that she had no idea she would be competing with Zach in a singing competition.

"What do you mean when I best Zach. It's only the kids participating right?" She asked trying to clarify this mess.

Macey gave her a sneaky smile. "You see everyone else agreed on it while you and Zach were still sleeping."

"Why couldn't you guys wait for us to vote or wake us up yourself?" Cammie was becoming more and more confused by the second. Was it so hard to knock on a door? Was it so hard to wait another half hour or so? These were simple things in Cammie's mind.

"First off we didn't know if you guys were decent. And we already knew both of your answers would be no, but it wouldn't have counted because it was 18-14." The whole time she was explaining this, Macey kept a calm manner. On the other hand Cammie was ready to punch something.

Perhaps I should go meet up with Zach to "train". Basically they were going to spar with each one determined to win, needless to say it was going to be intense.

She casually walked to the P&E barn taking her sweet time. Bex would probably be giving her lesson from inside to both the girls. At the same time Grant was teaching the boys on the opposite end of the barn and at the end they would join together and use whatever technique they learned.

One of the downsides of her idea as that the children did not have as much time to mingle with one another. After all that had been the point of the first exchange between the two schools. Maybe I should give them an hour or so to hang out and study or whatever kids do these days. With that idea in her mind she walked into the barn barely dodging a punch to the face. The girl apologized to her immediately hurrying back to her group of friends. Cammie barely spared her a glance walking up to Bex talking to Grant in the front of the room.
