Bonus chapter

Zach pov

I woke up in the early hours of the morning. It was still dark outside from looking out the window. Normally I would roll over and say its too early but I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was missing.

On instinct I moved my hands to bring Cammie closer when my hand met the empty space beside me. It took me a second for my mind to register what was going on.

Cammie was gone.

I jumped out a bed without a moment hesitation. Whatever thoughts I had before about it being too early was gone. My adrenaline was pumping giving me the energy I desperately needed.

I jumped into action moving from room to room. I check the bathroom first, the door unlocked and the window opened. The worse images came into my mind but I forced myself to think calmly.

She wouldn't go through the window, it was not like Cammie. Sure she goes through vents- that's it! Vents!

She could be in one of the air shafts or the secret passageways. I questioned why it took me so long to figure that out.

Finding her in a secret passageway was going to be tough. Although they rebuilt the school new ones were made and it didn't take Cammie long to find them. There might be around 10-15 all of which are her favorite (she told me she couldn't decide).

Out of the 10 of them she only showed me half of them claiming I could do the rest on my own (which I did).

I ran out the room barely managing to grab a pair of shoes. The closest one to us was the one by the painting of Gilligan Gallagher. I walked briskly trying to not make any sounds while trying to get there fast.

I need to find my fiancée.

What if something happened to her? I never had what it took to protect her and in that I failed her. I won't let her down.

I push those thoughts away from my mind, I will find her. Determination to find the love of my life and was the sole reason I got to the passageway within minutes.

I moved the frame towards the right to reveal a dark passageway. I entered calling out her name softly. There was no answer and no sign of anyone being in here recently. Nevertheless I checked throughly just in case.

Imagine the pain and anguish I felt when it was empty.

From there I made my way to each passageway I knew. The next one was empty. So was the one after that. After the 5th one coming up short I started to regret not bringing someone else. Things would have been searched faster and maybe I wouldn't have felt so helpless.

"Where are you Cammie?" I muttered under my breath.
