I barely got the time to process what happened before someone grabbed my shoulders and yanked me away from the Darkling's hands.I felt light as if I was floating out of my body, my hands shook, and goosebumps appeared all over my arms.
"Did I do this?"
"I didn't do this?"
"I didn't do this! This isn't possible. I didn't do this."
My thoughts went haywire inside my head. I managed to get back to reality by my mother shaking my shoulders vigorously.
Her eyes were blown, her blond hair was perfectly braided and put into a bun was not in disarray from presumably running her hands through it and her skin was glowing from sweat despite the growing cold within the palace.
"This was not supposed to happen now. You can't control it yet. It will kill you. You can't control it." She spoke, but her voice is panicked and uneven.
"Wh-what are you talking about? What just happened? Did I do this? I questioned, please say no.
She barely got time to respond before the door of the room we were in, burst open and a tall man in black entered. The Darkling looked straight at us. He walked closer, and my mother's hands tightened around my shoulders.
"Your highness, the guests are requesting for you." He spoke to my mother, his voice monotone. "I reckon it will be best if you spoke to them rather than me or the princess." He looked at me when he said my title, the first time since he enter the room.
His eyes were different, they looked amused. They shined despite the serious look on his face.
My mother didn't budge, I could tell she didn't want to leave me alone now. Not when I was this confused. The Darkling sensed her hesitation and spoke once more. "I will remain here with the princess and won't leave until you come back. As long as I am here, no harm will come to her." His voice was slow and sweet it comforted me as well. He was the General of the second army and a shadow summoner, feeling safe and comforted in his presence is inevitable. The promise felt soft to me that I moved away from my mom and she nodded and headed towards the door but not before taking several looks at me.
The door closed with a soft thud, only then did he speak to him. "Are you alright?" His eyes were still light and his voice soft. He brought his gloved hands up to gently grazed my upper arms as he moved his thumbs over the surface, I felt a light sting on my arms followed by a burning sensation. I look down to see two red marks imprinted on my skin, marks that I obtain from my mother just then.
He noticed them too and he repeated his question and I replied with a stiff nod of my head.
"You should sit down." He suggested and backed me toward one of the many chairs in the room.
"What happened back there?" I asked him, my hand grazing the slightly wet spot on his shoulder, the spot where the ice was. The ice that came out of my hand.
"It's quite obvious isn't it?" He asked as he knelt in from of me.
"No" I replied curtly and he smiled seemingly amused by me.
"Your highness, you're the daughter of the dragon." He smiled, his straight white teeth peeking from his pink lips. I could almost forget about what he just told me so I could marvel at his beauty however the words that left his mouth shook me to my core.
Me? The daughter of the dragon? He is a grown man he should know how to differentiate between reality and a myth.
"I'm the fucking what?" I chortled at him. He seemed surprised by my reaction and I was taken aback by my vocabulary.
"Were you ever tested as a child?" He questioned as he recovered from the surprise. Was he being serious right now? Did he actually believe that I was the daughter of the dragon, it would be ludicrous if he did.
But I decided to humor him, "No, I didn't get tested." I replied.

Alina
The sun summoner
I can't believe he caught me. I will be a slave and soon she will be one too. The Darkling kept the stag antlers safely somewhere, I wasn't aware of.
I could tell by the music going on full swing that they were dancing. The mere thought of him dancing with her made my skin crawl.
I pulled and pushed repeatedly against the door of my room. I kicked, punched and scratched against it. However locked the door made sure I wouldn't be able to open it by myself. Perhaps if mal was here, he would be able to kick the door down with minimal force.
I dare not to think of what was being done to him, where he was kept or how he was being treated. The last time I saw him, he was bleeding to death from an arrow wound.
Just then I felt the atmosphere shift abruptly. Everything went cold, colder than at this time of the year. I frowned and backed away from the door, still trying to process what was happening. My mouth fell open when I saw a thin layer of what seemed like ice slip from underneath the door. A bloodcurdling scream followed shortly after.
This can't be the work of a Grisha and I couldn't recognize the voice that just scream.
I caught the sight of the moon in my window. The blue moon.
Oh saints
Since my stay here, I had to do multiple things; Combat fighting, training with Bhagra and Grisha Studies.
There's no other possible or plausible explanation for this. Someone in this palace, among the deep sea of guests, was something Ravka has been waiting for decades.
The dragon of Ravka was awakened.
