Chapter 1

Hailey POV

Mom, when are you leaving with Kimberly for her check up, you are late already. Leave it to my mom to be late all the time, I've taken it upon myself to be the responsible one in the family. It can be chaotic when the house is full of girls. Let me do a little introduction.
        Hi guys, my name is Hailey, I have three sisters; Ashley,Kimberly and Charlotte. We lost our father to a road accident some years back since then my mom has been the one shouldering all the responsibilities in the house and I always try to help but my mom won't allow that, she will say " you are too young to be taking up some responsibilities and I'm your mother it is my job to look after you all". That's all about my family and by the way I'm 17 years old.

My mom said; Hailey don't worry, we will get there soon and we won't lose our appointment with Kimberly's Doctor.
    My little sister Kimberly is 8 years old and she was diagnosed with a heart disease since she was six so she always attend the hospital monthly for a check up and my mom is to take her today but they are late.
   Hailey take care of your siblings and don't set my house on fire, we will be back soon said my mother and I told her okay that I will do so, so they should leave. My mom kissed me on my cheek and did the same to my siblings and left.

Three hours later

The phone was ringing and I'm busy preparing dinner in the kitchen so I called out to Ashley to pick up the phone, she answered and went to pick up the phone. All of a sudden I heard a scream from Ashley so I rushed to the living room to ask what's wrong only to meet her screaming and crying so I asked her what's wrong but she didn't answer me so I took the phone and I spoke to the person on the line.
Hello, this is Hailey speaking, can you tell me what's wrong because my sister is not ready to tell me anything.
Your mum and your sister was involved in an accident but while rushing them to the hospital, they died. We are just calling to inform you about it said the doctor

I couldn't breathe at all, I can't believe this is happening. It can't be, mom said she is going to come back that she won't take long
I didn't want to cry, I want to stay strong for my sisters so I told them to get dressed that we are going to the hospital.
When we got to the hospital, we met up with the doctor she was mum's friend so she told us everything.
Hailey, you know you are underaged right? Said the doctor so I looked up and ask her that I know so what is she pointing at. She sighed and said my siblings will be taken away from me and they will be taken to the orphanage home but I refused and I told her I won't allowed it. To cut the long story short, she agreed to help us and she helped us.

       Now, I take online classes and do different jobs so I can take care of my siblings. The responsibility is stressing me out but I love my sisters and I will do anything for them. We are still staying in our house since the house belongs to my dad before he died.
   I have good news and I'm feeling so elated right now and the good news is I will be going to school now. Yeah, you heard right I was given scholarship to study in the same school as my sisters and I don't have to pay I'm so happy.

Hailey is a girl with ambitions and a sense of responsibility, she is just a kid but she's already looking after her sisters
