NO ONE P.O.V.

It was currently the last day of break before the second year of beacon academy would start for (Y/N) and he was walking with his girlfriend Blake through vale.

(Y/N): "are you really not gonna go see your family? I mean, as much as i understand your reasoning they are still your parents"

Blake: "what if they hate me for leaving, i couldn't bear that, not to mention i wouldn't get back in time for the new year."

(Y/N): "I could cover for you?"

Blake: "as much as i think that's sweet, you still can't see out of your left eye, speaking of when are you getting that fixed?"

(Y/N): "uhh about that."

Blake: "what happened?"

(Y/N): "if i get it done I'll be useless for a few days so i was thinking i could train like this for a while and get it done after the festival?"

Blake: "You've already used that excuse, I don't believe it."

(Y/N): "that just proves I'm telling the truth"

Blake: "no it proves you have a different reason as to why you don't want to go."

(Y/N): "fine. I don't want to go because i know they use a lot of drugs to numb the pain, i don't want to say anything weird to you or anyone after i do that."

Blake facepalmed at this reason.

(Y/N): "what?!"

Blake: "you're so dumb. just get it over with and you wont have to deal with that."

Blake was meeting with her teammates, first to arrive was Weiss a couple days before the festival was set to begin, then came Ruby and Yang dropped off by their father. (Y/N) knew their father from his time at signal but was afraid to mention anything to him that might get him hurt. Although he knew they had to meet up often to plan for the Vytal festival tournament, it took up all their free time leaving (Y/N) no time with Blake, not even sleeping next to each other as Blake was always too tired and he was explicitly told not to climb in without her permission. He knew not to break that trust and overstep but he could never be sure that she wasn't having some ulterior motives.

Team RWBY was now finished with their first match of the festival, and team JNPR was setting onto the field.

Blake: "Are you ok (Y/N)?"

(Y/N): "yeah just feeling a little depressed."

Blake: "It's ok, just because Professor Ozpin didn't let you participate doesn't mean that he doesn't acknowledge your strengths."

(Y/N): "yeah, although that's not what I'm worried about most."

Blake: "What do you mean?"

(Y/N): "well to put it in the bluntest of terms, i feel like I'm a background character in life, talking to the main characters and serving to advance the plot but never having a dedicated moment of existence, the spotlight is never on me and no matter how much i try it will always shine on you guys."

Blake: "That's ridiculous. (Y/N) you are one of the strongest people i know and even if you don't get the spotlight, just know that i think of you all the time, so i hope that's a bit of consolation."

(Y/N): "Are you sure? Cause you always seem to be distracted whenever we talk, and when we do get the chance to do stuff alone you mostly want to spend it with your own thoughts. "
