Everything Has Changed

9:15 AM"Bread, milk, cereal, soap, ice cream, chips, water, sodas," Tristen went over her grocery list in her head as she pushed her buggy down the aisles in the small store. Everyone was so nice here, unlike Atlanta. Everything was smaller, too. She liked not being around skyscrapers or hearing traffic at night.
After she got everything she could remember needing, she turned off the aisle she was on and started walking to the check-out line. She wasn't paying attention when she ran into another buggy.
"I'm so sorry," she said, not looking at the person she hit. "I wasn't paying attention."
"It's fine," the person said. "Neither was I." Tristen looked up.
Holy shit.
Brown hair, perfect eyebrows, dark brown eyes, jawline sculpted by God Himself.
Jack Gilinsky.
He's here? Why?
"I-uh, um, I, sorry," she said again. He chuckled.
"Cute," he smirked. They stood there for a minute, both wishing that the other would make a move.
"Well," she started. "I gotta go. Again, I'm sorry for hitting you."
He nodded and watched her walk away. He didn't know who she was, but he sure as hell wanted to find out.

"YOU WHAT?!" Kelsey shouted. Tristen grabbed her friend's mouth to quieten her.
"Jesus Kels, you're gonna make someone want to call the cops," she sighed, and began her story again, speaking slower this time.
"I was in the supermarket buying groceries, which you oh-so-graciously told me to do, just minding my business when I ran into the tall, tan, built sex god that is Jack Gilinsky."
"I. Don't. Believe. You."
"Too bad, motherfucker. It happened."
"No way in hell."
"Swear on my life."
"Damn."
"He's much hotter in person."
"Well then let's go find him."
Tristen stopped putting the groceries in the cabinets. What?
"I said, let's go find him." Kelsey stated again. "This isn't a big town, we're bound to run into him somewhere."
"That's true, but how would we find him? Just go in every bar or restaurant until we see him?"
"Well, yeah."
Tristen sighed. "Why the hell not."
"Yes!" Kelsey jumped up. "Go pick out something cute to wear, 'cause you've got a man to find."

8:37 PMEver since Jack had been in the supermarket that morning, he couldn't keep his mind off that girl. She was gorgeous, with her brown hair that complimented her fair skin perfectly. And her eyes, wow, her eyes. They were the kind of brown eyes that made you want to melt when they looked at you. What was her name? Where was she from, and why was she here?
Jack had spent so much time thinking about this girl that he hadn't noticed Jack Johnson, his best friend of many years, trying to get his attention.
"Yo, asswipe, are you even listening?"
"Huh? Oh, um, yeah. I am."
"Bullshit." Jack J sighed. "I was saying, why don't we go to a local restaurant tonight, you know, to experience the sights and tastes of Georgia."
Jack paid more attention now. Going out tonight could increase his chances of seeing her, and maybe even getting to know her.
"Yeah, sure. Lemme just get changed first."
Minutes later, both boys walked out of their rental house wearing button up polos, khaki shorts, and vans. Johnson had suggested a restaurant on the beach called Molly Jo's, and to both boys it seemed to have been the longest business around. The walls were made of old, almost rotten-looking wood, and were decorated with all types of marine objects.
The waitress, a bleach-blonde girl in her late teens, sat the Jacks at a table on the porch.
"My name's Katherine," she cheesed, "and I'll be taking care of y'all tonight. Can I start y'all off with some sweet tea?"
"Yeah, actually. One sweet tea please," Johnson said, still looking at the menu.
"And for you?" Katherine asked Jack, batting her eyelashes and squishing her boobs together to make them look bigger than they were.
"Um, just a sweet tea please." She was making him feel awkward.
"Sure thing, two sweet teas for two sweeties," she winked, stressing the "-ties" to make it sound like she said "teas."
"She gone?" Johnson asked when she had walked away.
"Yeah, why?"
"Good. She looks like a fake bitch."
Jack couldn't hold in his laughter. He felt a little bad for being judgemental about their waitress, but he couldn't help but agree with Johnson. She did seem like a fake bitch. And he's known plenty of them.
"Okay, I have the double cheeseburger with fries and cole slaw," Katherine announced with an overly peppy voice, handing the plate to Jack.
"And the fish sandwich with cheese grits and slaw," she said monotonously, putting the plate in front of Johnson. "If y'all need anything let me know." And with that, she walked away.
"Bitch," Johnson muttered. Jack chuckled. As he raised a spoonful of cole slaw into his mouth, he saw something he had been waiting to see.
////9:29 PM
"Please, let's just go eat Kels. We'll find him some other day."
"If he's not in this restaurant then we won't go anywhere else tonight. But you best believe that I'm finding this guy for you before we leave here."
Tristen sighed. There was no winning with Kelsey, she was much too stubborn.
"Welcome to Molly Jo's, how can I help you?" the receptionist, Katherine, asked with boredom evident in her voice.
"Table for two, please," Kelsey asked, a fake smile plastered on her face.
"Mhm. C'mon," Katherine ordered. Okay, rude. Tristen thought.
"Here ya go, your server will be with you shortly." And with that, she was gone. She had put Tristen and Kelsey at a table in the far corner of the porch, with an incredible view of the moonlight ocean.
As Kelsey flipped through her menu, Tristen looked around the porch, trying to guess if the people around them were couples, or siblings, or maybe even coworkers out for dinner. Her perusing came to a halt when she saw the face she had been waiting all day to see again.
"No. Fucking. Way."\\\\
