"Welcome, parents, teachers, friends. This past year, I have been privileged to be the principal of the graduating class of 2014. This class has spent their whole high school career together, and I want to congratulate them on a job well done," Principal Jones started.
His speech started off the graduation ceremony for the class of 2014. The gym of Johnson High School was packed, and the Atlanta residents were thankful that they didn't have to sit outside in the smoldering heat.
The sad looks on all 162 student faces were so fake, but to everyone in the crowd they looked genuine. That's what the students wanted to do; fool their parents into thinking they were sad about graduating so their parents would let them go to the huge after-graduation party.
Everyone was trying to hide their smiles because they knew who was throwing the party: Tristen Hyatt. Tristen, as all of the senior class knew, was the party girl of Jackson High. During her sophomore year, she banged five different guys and got blackout drunk after stripping for the male portion of the junior class.
And that was only one party.
But she didn't care, she was living for the moment. Some people say that YOLO was made because of her. Others say that she's just a whore.
If you ask Tristen, she could care less about what people think of her. She's living her life the way she wants, and if someone has a problem with that, fuck them.
Nobody knows the real Tristen.
Nobody.
And she intends to keep it that way.////
"I-it's my main biiitch!" slurred Tristen's best friend, Kelsey Young. After Tristen, she was the second biggest party girl at Jackson High.
The two girls laughed and hung off each other, spilling their cups of alcohol on everyone around them.
Across the room stood Dylan Masters, quarterback of the football team and pitcher for the baseball team. He was also Tristen's boyfriend of three years.
Tristen squealed with delight when she saw him looking at her, and quickly but unsteadily made her way over to him.
She gave him a hug and a sloppy kiss, then turned around to see someone she had never seen before.
Who is this girl? she thought. And why is she hanging around Dylan giving him worried looks?
He backed away and gave Tristen a look full of sympathy. The girl beside him, on the other hand, was looking at her angrily.
"Tristen," he began. "This is Maya." He looked nervously between the two girls. "We've, uh, we've..."
Maya scoffed. "You obviously can't spit it out, so I will." She turned to Tristen, not even the slightest bit regretful about what she was going to say.
"Honey, I don't know how to put this nicely so I'm just gonna say it. I've been fucking your boyfriend for the past year, and quite honestly, I don't regret a single minute of it."
Tristen froze. No matter how drunk she had been, she was sober now.
"What?" she whispered. They both looked at her like she was about to cry or throw up, and she felt like doing both. "What the actual fuck, Dylan?! Wh...ho...what?!"
A fake pout was on Maya's face. "Aww, is the wittle party girl too dwunk to understand?" She smirked.
"Shut the fuck up, you whore. I wasn't talking to you anyways," Tristen growled.
Dylan backed up, only making Tristen take a step closer to him.
"B-babe, I'm sorry you found out like this. Better to tell you now than to s-string you along for another year, right?" He nervously chuckled.
Tristen let out a sarcastic laugh. "Ha. Of course, better to tell me you cheated then to not cheat at all! How could you do this to me? I....I thought you loved me?"
Her voice was quiet now, and she had sunk down onto the floor with her head in her knees, unaware of the crowd around them. She quietly sobbed as Dylan tried to calm her down and break up the crowd.
"Tris, baby, please don't cry," he pleaded.
"I'm not your baby, Dylan. Not anymore," she said harshly whilst standing up.
She walked away from Dylan and Maya, and was halfway through the crowd when she saw someone holding an unopened bottle of booze.
"Gimme that," she growled, snatching the bottle from the person, not waiting for a reply.
She walked out of the house she threw the party in, (which wasn't her house anyway) taking huge gulps of the liquor as she roamed around the backyard of the house. She sat down under a tree and propped herself up against its trunk, downing the last half of the liquor. Kelsey came and sat beside her, obviously sobered up too, and handed her a bottle of water once she got done with the booze.
"I'm not sure what all happened tonight, but I'm here for you all the way. You can tell me anything," she told Tristen, wrapping her arms around the crying girl.
"Thanks Kels, I don't know what I'd have done without you all these years."
"Don't sweat it, kid. I love you," she said softly.
"I love you too," Tristen replied, then drifted off in a deep sleep. How'd chapter one go? I bet it sucks and moved very quickly so I'm sorry! I'll try to update as soon as possible! Please comment anything you want to happen in the story and also vote and follow! Thank you for reading!!!! :)
