"Thank you, come again!"
Y/n said to the last customer of the day as they walked out of the coffee shop. She sighed and leaned against the cash register, rubbing both of her e/c colored eye contacts before yawning.
It has been a long, stressful day. Stressful because today she worked both of her part time jobs she has and has been up since four in the morning. It's currently 10 at night and the woman was scheduled to close up the shop. Alone, that is.
Which she didn't really mind.
Scratch that, there were a handful of times she minded it.
There would be days where it was hectic. But that's common sense since people needed their caffeine and a quick bite for the day.
Y/n didn't mind working at the coffee shop since it was the least stressful one out of the two. Working by herself didn't bother her either, but today was different.
Since it was Friday, the start of the weekend, it was busy.
All day, since two in the afternoon, Y/n was surrounded with the aromas of different coffees the shop brewed: regular, decaf, dark roast, cold brew, you name it. Along with the smell of coffee, she was indulged in the aromas of freshly baked goods: bagels, muffins, croissants, donuts, and pastries. As well as freshly baked breakfast sandwiches.
At the end of the day when she closed up the shop, she would throw away the remaining of the donuts, muffins, pastries and all the other goodies since they wouldn't be good for tomorrow. Once Y/n closes up, overnight workers would come in and prepare the donuts for the following day.
Before she threw them all away, she saved a dozen of them to take back home so her and her roommates can share.
The woman would also empty out any coffee maker pots so she can wash them up and have them clean and ready for the morning shift workers to brew up fresh coffee.
Her job as a closer consisted of sweeping and mopping the floor. From behind the register, to the kitchen, and even out in the lobby where the customers would eat at. Cleaning the tables was also part of the job, of course.
Since she was working alone tonight, Y/n blasted music before she grabbed the broom to start sweeping the floors.
As she began to sweep the floors, Call It Fate, Call It Karma by The Strokes played in the background.
As one specific part of the song played, Y/n couldn't resist singing it.
♪ Can I waste all your time here on the sidewalk? ♪
She sang as she stopped sweeping and used the broom as a microphone.
♪ Can I stand in your light just for a while? ♪
Swaying her curvaceous hips from side to side, feeling the calmness of the music flowing through her body, Y/n felt at ease for a quick minute. The tranquility of the atmosphere was one you'd experience as if you were high. More specifically, a mind high.
The relief cruising through your body, as if not having any stress. No overwhelming thoughts of the future. No worrying. No overthinking.
The feeling you get when you're at the beach, watching the sunset. Bare feet wiggling around in the sand, the crashing of waves on the shore as you hear seagulls squawking to one another. The pretty colors of pink, orange, and yellow from the setting sun reflecting off the surface of the water.
That tranquility you feel was almost, if not entirely, what you felt in that exact moment.
But, good things always come to an end.
Y/n wasn't expecting no one else to be in the shop, except herself, since it was already closed and was cleaning.
Until a voice spoke up from behind.
"You have an amazing singing voice."
Not having her guard up, she got startled. The sudden voice made her scream and drop the broom on the floor.
It was quiet for a few seconds. Well, except for the song that was still playing in the background. But between her and the voice that startled her, it was quiet.
Y/n obviously wasn't expecting someone, especially this late at night. She didn't receive a call about a customer coming in at a specific time for an order.
So, why the fuck are they here?
The shop is closed and the door is supposed to be locked.
So, how the fuck did they get in!?
"What the fuck!" Y/n yelled out as she looked at the person who spoke up unexpectedly. "Don't you know what time it is? The shop is closed! Leave, please!"
What the h/c haired colored woman said came out a bit harsh but come on now, she's a woman all by herself at a coffee shop passed 10 at night. One doesn't know what might happen.
He could be a kidnapper for all she knew. Hell, if luck wasn't on her side, this person could be in a gang! A murderer even. Y/n never wanted to be associated with anything that involved gangs. She never liked being around people who were in gangs since nothing good ever happened to her when she was around them.
All besides her roommates. Since they have known each other since they were kids, and they consider her family, they were the only exception.
Even then, she didn't associate herself with what they did in their gang.
As she was waiting for a response back, Y/n quickly studied this man's appearance and his attire. The man has long, white hair. One side of his head looked as if it was shaved and had a... tattoo? The tattoo has the same design as one of her roommates earrings, which shocked her.. His arched eyebrows were now furrowed as he took in the woman's features. His eyes then widened in shock and his mouth was left agape.
His eyes went from staring at her eyes to her lips, nose, eyebrows. Hell, he even stared at her cheeks, chin, eyelashes, hair, you name it. He just took in all of her appearance in general, starting from her face and even checking out her body and uniform.
"Hey man, my eyes are up here." Y/n snapped at the man. She was scared. Hell, who wouldn't be in a situation like this? "The door should've been locked, how the fuck did you get inside?"
She went from being complimented to being stared at. What's even creepier is that he was he just stood there, as if he were frozen from the shock.
"Hello?" She waved her hand in front of the man's face since it looked like he was caught in a trance. "I'm going to call the cops if you don't-"
"Akane?"
