Rodrick's POV-

I swear my soul lept out of my body. I don't care what I said to my mom, but I knew my relationship with Violet would change no matter what I said, so the easiest way of getting out of this was by saying "that isn't mine, Bill had magazines like that, he must have left it here and didn't want to come back after what happened. And the picture, well I had a picture of me and Violet under my bed because I wanted to frame it, it must have got stuck on a melted candy or something!"

"Okay, me and you will talk about this later. And just know, if you lie you will be in even more trouble" Mom said, I knew it would be fine, I think my lie covered me

I looked at Violet who looked extremely pale, so I asked her if she wanted to go outside for a bit, she said she needed to go home and after a bit of convincing, she let me walk her.

We were walking home but nobody said a word. It wasn't the normal, comfortable silences we usually have, but it felt uncomfortable and quite sad to be honest. So I spoke up "look I'm really sorry, but I really like you and I just wanted something to make it feel like you were mine!"

"So rather then asking me on a date, which I would have agreed to, you decided to make it look like I've given you a rather inappropriate picture!?" She snapped. "Well I didn't think-" I tried to say before she started ranting.

"I trusted you, I was trying to shelter Rowley from you, when really you need to be sheltered from EVERYONE. I thought you wouldn't be the person everyone else says you are. I thought you were generally a nice guy but clearly I was wrong.I'm going home and don't you dare call me, don't come by my house, and I'll never have to see you outside of school again." And with that I realised just how much she meant to me.

I've liked other girls before, sure, but I've never felt this way before and I've only known her for a few weeks.

I have to do the right thing and befriend her again.

Violet's POV-

When I got home, I went straight upstairs and into my bedroom. I think Rowley heard me and wanted to come see me like he does every night. "Hullo Lee" I spoke as my voice cracked, I used the nickname I always call him. Rowley doesn't always act his age but when he does it's normally when something bad happens to him or his family.

"What happened Violet?" He asked concerned whilst walking over to my bed. "The world isn't all as bad as it first seems. The majority of it is made of good people who respect people, who are kind and who are honest, don't worry your one of them. But there are also some bad people who disrespect people, who use people and who aren't honest and it leaves them in a lot of trouble. And it's those people who make the population upset" I replied. When upset and talking to Rowley I always knew the right way to word things.

"But Greg's upset me before and he's not a bad person anymore. I gave him a second chance and now he's nicer then ever! Why don't we all just give the bad people a second chance?" Rowley said to me. I thought about it for a moment and replayed the whole situation in my head when I realised something, Rodrick liked me and that's why he did that. Although it was disrespectful what he did, he only did it so he wouldn't ruin our friendship, which kinda makes him a kind person who doesn't what to hurt anyones feelings.

That boy is messing with my head.

A/N- this is the shortest chapter so far but I'm going to do Rodrick's side of things next and then after that I'm most likely to fade it into dog days with the country club :)
