Febuary 6/ 1912
The Elephant publishing house looked like another office building in the middle of busy streets of London. It was 6am in the morning and my stomach growled, I was in such a rush that I forgot to eat anything. Johnathon showed me his wallet "It's still closed, let's go and eat" he spotted a cafe near by, despite my hate for this man, my stomach was almost about to eat itself. I sighed "Okay..." he brought me to a cafe called Stampy's breakfast diner, we went in and it was quite fancy, there were a few people lining up and some people sitting on their tables. I looked around the cafe a bit more and I took a glance of the menu, the prices were high. "Um... Do we have enough?" I questioned him, he looked to me and says "It's alright, you can get what you want" he still had his annoying smile on his face. I noticed some of the girls were looking at him in the cafe and from outside, which didn't surprise me since he did have a whole crowd back at the bakery. I ordered their strawberry scones with cream and hot chocolate, while Johnathon ordered a buttered toast, kind of basic in my opinion, like him. He tried to make a conversation while we waited for our food, I just played along, I mean I need to get used to seeing his "Perfect" face, lovely hazel eyes and neat, raven locks. When out food came, he gazed at me it kind of freaked me out as I ate my scones and drank my hot chocolate. "Um, do you mind not starring at me while I eat?" I asked him as politely as I could, as a lady. But he answered "What, am I not a loud to look?" I just gave him a blank stare and went back to me food. As I drank my hot chocolate, I realized that my lipstick was stuck to the tip of the glass, which made Johnathon laugh.
After finishing out breakfast, we headed out and waited for the publishing house to open. Some of the workers there were already heading in and since we didn't work there yet, we couldn't enter. I check my purse to see if I left anything, only to realize I forgot my lipstick, I remember putting it back on after eating. I groaned and went back to the cafe "Where are you going?" Johnathon grabbed my wrist tightly, I pulled away. "I left my lipstick back in the cafe, I'll be back in a moment" I said to him as I walked back and went inside. I headed to the table we ate at to see someone holding my lipstick and examining it. I didn't know how to react, his skin looked smooth and was a gentle olive colour, his clothes were not of one that is formal, more like an average working class man and his hair was quite poofy, I should say, he wasn't as tall as Johnathon but he was about a few inches from my height. I approached him slowly and tapped his shoulder "I'm sorry sir, I believe that lipstick belongs to me" I said. I saw his face and I felt the world stop for a second, until he spoke "Oh, sorry mam my apology, I couldn't help but wonder whose it was" he said nervously. He had a mole on his cheek, his eyes held were green as emeralds and he had a gentle smile that felt, warm. I took my lipstick and put it in my purse, I noticed him starring at me and when he realized I saw him. He turned away and went back to his seat and said "Have a good day Miss" with his hands to his face. It honestly felt kind of refreshing seeing a guy treat me normally, unlike somebody I work with...
Heading back to the publishing house, I walked to up Johnathon who proceeded to ask me a question "What took you so long?" I just answered "Someone had my lipstick, but they gave it back to me". We waited for a few hours, then it opened for business at 10:30 am, we went inside quite early as it opened, so not many people were there. We headed to the reception, where people were coming in to begin the day. The receptionist was there already checking people in, Johnathon and I went up to her "Excuse me Miss, I'm Maya Benevin and this is my... Colleague Johnathon Taylor, we're scheduled for an interview at eleven?". The receptionist nodded her head and got out a file and handed it to them "5th floor, that's where your interview will be". Johnathon took the file and inspected it, we thanked her and headed to the elevator. After some time we managed to arrive on the 5th floor, people were already there taking in rumours from the streets and crimes that were committed. And also, gossip about the possible war, a lady came to us, she introduced herself as Alice Diamond. She was the main assistant of the head and was quite young to be working, almost 16 I would presume, she had short, brunette hair and green eyes along with clear pale skin. I was honestly kind of jealous of how pretty she was, but I held my erges "Hello Miss, we're here for the interview" Johnathon took her hand and kissed it gently. I looked away in disgust, treating woman as if they are his...
