I've been on a superbat streak for whatever reason. I don't mind it but I wish I could maintain this energy for all my stories!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The league had decided to meet at the Hall of Justice for their meeting. Bruce didn't care much for the Hall of Justice he preferred the Watch Tower when it came to anything League related. It always felt so exposed to him. With regular civilians outside and potential villains watching who was in and out he always felt on edge there. He sighed as he pushed the front doors of the hall. The only upside about it was that there was less hero traffic within.
"Bats, you made it." Green Lantern greeted him and Bruce kept his lips in a thin line.
"Unfortunately," Bruce grunted.
"Someone's in a good mood today." Hal joked but Bruce only huffed.
They both walked to the conference room side by side. Bruce had found comfort in the Green Lantern; their friendship though odd was highly appreciated. Bruce watched Hal for a second and realized that he was glowing with some kind of happiness. Bruce raised an eyebrow at him.
"Why are you in a good mood?" He questioned and Hal chuckled.
"I'm always in a good mood." Hal pointed out.
"That's not true." Batman shook his head and Hal nudged him.
"It is." Hal opened the door and they both stepped through, "unless it's a really bad day."
Bruce hummed and they both took their respective seats at the round table. Barry was already there reading over some files while Superman was placing other files down for the different members. Bruce watched as Superman did everything with a small smile on his face. Bruce could tell something was going right for Superman but couldn't find it in himself to ask. He made it a point to keep his distance from Superman. He knew that getting too close to the hero would make his feelings grow deeper and he didn't know if he could handle fighting crimes with someone he was in love with.
"Bats? Did you hear me?" Superman waved a hand in front of Bruce's face.
"No." Batman looked up at Superman who was now standing beside him.
"I said that your file is a little more complicated than the others." Superman tapped on the file, "our missions intertwine due to the villains helping one another."
"Of course." Bruce huffed but opened his files.
Wonder Woman stepped into the room sipping on a blended coffee drink. She took a seat next to Barry and greeted them all with a pleasant smile.
"Cyborg and Shazam should be here soon." Clark moved to take his seat.
"The Joker has been in Metropolis?" Batman looked up from his file.
"On multiple occasions, I think he's planning something with Luthor." Superman admitted, "a jade sculpture was recently stolen from the Gotham history museum."
"It's not jade." Bruce grunted, "it's kryptonite."
"You knew?" Superman's eyebrows shot up.
"Test results came back last night." Batman tried his best not to sound annoyed, "I was going to inform you today."
"Then it's settled we'll work on this together." Superman hummed, "you know the Joker like the back of your hand."
"Unfortunately." Bruce huffed again he was not looking forward to this mission.
"Cheetah has been on the loose again and Diana we need you to deal with her." Clark moved on from his and Bruce's mission, "it's nothing too bad but she has been troublesome."
