Percy's POV

"Ughhh...I give up!" Percy groaned, "The words are floating and I really can't read them! This is too hard! I can't do this anymore!" He flopped down onto one of the beanbags in Annabeth's room.

Annabeth laughed.

"It's okay, Seaweed Brain, we've been studying for the past two hours anyway. You were bound to explode soon," she replied as she sat next to him on the beanbag. She patted his back reassuringly as he sat with his head in his hands.

While whispering some reassuring words to Percy, Annabeth sat bolt upright.

"I completely forgot! Wait right here, I'll bring it up!" She exclaimed, before jumping up and rushing out of her room.

Percy was confused.

What was it that Annabeth was so excited to show him?

As he pondered upon that, his eyes scanned Annabeth's room.

It was painted sea-green, which Percy assumed was her favourite colour. There were also tons of posters of different architectural wonders, including the Parthenon. She had stuck many sticky notes on those pictures with notes like "LOVE THIS" or "I would be so happy if I could visit the Parthenon. Apparently around 7.2 million people go there each year!!"

As Percy looked for pictures of Annabeth and her family, he noticed a framed photo of a young couple holding hands, a lady with grey eyes who looked a lot like Annabeth caught Percy's eye.

Who was she?

Annabeth's mom perhaps?

But Percy wasn't going to push Annabeth if she wasn't willing to open up about it.

He also spotted a picture of Annabeth with her brothers, whom Percy had met previously but were currently at school, her father and the mysterious woman, who seemed as if she had been scribbled out of the picture so that she was not seen.

Suddenly, Percy heard Annabeth's footsteps echo as she climbed up the stairs, which made Percy scramble up and morph his face into an innocent look, as if he hadn't just been snooping around in her things.

As Annabeth walked up, Percy heard her say "Close you eyes, Percy! I have a surprise for you!"

As Percy shut his eyes, he hear Annabeth place something on a nearby table. "Open your eyes!" She exclaimed,as she rubbed her hands together, waiting for his reaction.

Percy stared at the bowl on the table in front of him.

It took him a moment to process what he was seeing.

"Blue cookies!" He yelled, with childish excitement, as he reached forward and grabbed one.

As he devoured one after the other, he couldn't help feeling unexplainable bliss.

Blue cookies were his escape from the harsh reality of the world. You could say blue cookies were Percy's drug, and his addiction for it was unceasing, although Percy secretly hoped that addiction would reform into an addiction for a certain someone's lips, but the thought alone made him blush.

"Thwese awe swoooo gwoood", Percy groaned in delight, with crumbs all over his face, which made Annabeth giggle.

"Did my mom, give you some?" He asked, which made Annabeth frown. "I made them myself you idiot!" She exclaimed, frowning at Percy.

"Wait, you can bake blue cookies?" Percy asked incredulously. "No Percy, I can't, that's why there's a freshly made batch of them sitting right here, my bad," Annabeth replied, rolling her eyes.

"But I didn't know you could bake," Percy mumbled, but not soft enough.

"Are you seriously doubting my baking abilities, buddy?" Annabeth asked, her eyes narrowing dangerously. "N-no... its nothing like that!" Percy exclaimed, backing away from the furious Annabeth, who stood with her arms akimbo, eyes blazing with fury.

"It's just-"

"It's just what!" Annabeth growled, taking a menacing step towards him.

"W-well, th thing is, it tasted so good that it felt like it was way better than my mom's usual ones, and I didn't believe that was possible! Please don't smack me," Percy blurted, whimpering as his hands covered his face.

Annabeth's features softened.

"Well, I guess the cookies weren't that bad then," she whispered, a slight pinkish tinge coating her cheeks.

Percy's mouth dropped open.

He couldn't believe his eyes.

Annabeth was blushing!

He rubbed his eyes as he took in the sight before him.

Annabeth was rubbing her neck awkwardly and looking anywhere but at Percy. All of a sudden, Annabeth cleared her throat loudly. "We better go back to doing Math then, come on Percy," she called, as she went back to her desk and looked at the math homework on the table.

Percy was still standing stock still in shock.
