Three days had passed since the beach day. Sasuke had only briefly seen you for a couple minutes throughout those three days. There was only one catch.
Every single time, you had been with Kakashi.
At first, Sasuke believed he was being overly paranoid - the Baader–Meinhof phenomenon. Perhaps that was why he was able to catch what he did. The lingering glances. The gentle touches. The way Kakashi doted over you.
Theories quickly circulated around Sasuke's head.
Honestly, it wouldn't be a huge deal to the public if you and Kakashi were going out.
You were sixteen going on seventeen, Kakashi had just recently turned twenty two. There was a total of five and a bit years between the two of you.
That was an acceptable age gap.
Still, hypothetically speaking, if the two of you were together, it would be likely you keep the relationship on the downlow. Despite the not so huge age gap, it was still a teacher-student relationship. There was a high possibility if the relationship were to go public, there would be a lot of backlash.
Still, Sasuke had to play his cards right.
The first thing he needed to do was figure out the truth behind your relationship.
Still, he knew that would take a lot of time. When spinning a plan, it takes time. It takes brains. It takes patients.
After so much time staring at the wall, a plan formulated in his head. Now, he just had to set it into action. It would be foolish to confront Kakashi on the matter. The jonin was already suspicious of him - though he clearly tried not to show it. Still, to Sasuke, it was blatantly obvious. That completely knocked out that route.
Then, there was you. He could very well just ask you about your relationship with Kakashi. You clearly trusted him, perhaps enough to reveal your relationship with Kakashi to him. Still, there was a high chance that the conversation would arouse suspicion in you. That was the last thing Sasuke wanted - for you to be on guard when you talked to him. The entire point of all of this was to make you fall in love with him, as much as he was with you. Therefore, you weren't an option of information.
There was Sakura. The pink haired girl would have been Sasuke's best option, but then he recalled the other day. Sakura following the two of you in the park. Since that day, there was nothing odd that had happened. Still, Sakura was smart. Since Sasuke had got Sakura off his back, there was no way he would risk her getting concerned over him again. Sakura wasn't an option.
Then, there was the final person Sasuke would ever go to. The most blatantly obvious person to go to.
Naruto Uzumaki. That idiot trusted Sasuke wholeheartedly. That and he wouldn't get even remotely suspicious if Sasuke asked questions about you and Kakashi. The only slight problem was Naruto's romantic obliviousness. For years, Hinata chased Naruto (and continues to do so) but Naruto has never noticed.
With a groan, Sasuke realised that Naruto was his only real source of information.
Slipping out of his front door in casual attire, Sasuke made his way to Naruto's little apartment. As he was walking, Sasuke continuously felt the prying gazes of Konoha citizens. The distrust was clear, none of the observers trying to hide it. Whispers ran through the crowds.
"Careful, don't go near him."
"Lady Tsunade is a fool! Letting a murderer like him in!"
"Durari! Stay away from him! He might hurt you!"
