The Tournament

When merlin was seven his mother and him needed money so he left hometown work and get the money he would always send home majority of it and keep so for his own need
Throughout his travels he was taken and forcefully asked to participate in a tournament you would fight and last winner would have a feast in there honor and get half of the profits gained at teh entry fees he was stuck there for years upon years but after awhile he started to enjoy it he didn't have to kill anyone that was one of the rules 'no killing aloud' he could use his magic freely as did everyone else who possessed or studied it after awhile he was no longer kept there against his will he stayed there willingly he also became good friends with the man who runs all this king Robert and his daughter princess mithian they would always play when they were kids and as they got older they would just spend time together hunith was able to visit regularly sometimes stay for months merlin was happy

Merlin was now 18 he's been participating it the tournament for eleven years he was sitting and dining with king robert and princess mithian

"So merlin how was training the newcomers" Robert asked

"It was nice though they're doing really good" Merlin replied

"That's good that's good" Robert said

Merlin continued to eat and engaged conversation with mithian while robert was thinking very hard about something

"Merlin" Robert said merlin lifted his gaze to the king

"Yes sir" Merlin awnsered

"I want you to take a break for a few years" Robert said

Mithian and merlin both stopped what they were doing and just looked at robert like he had spiders crawling out of his nose

"W-what" Merlin spoke after awhile

"Merlin you've been here since childhood almost your whole life I want you to go away for a few years and enjoy life on your own" Robert said to merlin

Merlin sat there for awhile and contemplated he looked at mithian who gave him a smile and a nod he then looked back at robert

"Okay sir" Merlin awnsered to robert

Merlin left a few days later and headed to his mother's home in ealdor he stayed there for a couple of months and then she sent him off to gaius for help with his magic he didn't like the idea at first but agreed then he saved that stupid princess life and became his servant and then found out about his destiny he sent a letter to king robert explaining everything the king was happy to hear that merlin found something to do but made merlin promise to still visit every once in awhile and if he wished he could participate in the tournament if he wished and merlin agreed to visit and said he might participate after a few years
Eight years have passed and merlin is still Arthur's servant Arthur has made a group of knights called the round table Arthur and Gwen have just gotten married and are having a feast to celebrate and have invite many of Camelot allies

Arthur was asleep and merlin just arrived to wake up the annoying prat of a king merlin walked over to the curtains to open them
