It's your fourth year at Hogwarts, and Harry's name came out of the Goblet of Fire. You're slightly surprised, but you believe that he didn't put his name in there. The only other person who believes him is Hermione. Ron, on the other hand.. not so much.
The first task went well for Harry, and he got the golden egg. Eventually, he found out that in the second task, he would have to retrieve something precious to him from Merpeople. The only problem is, he doesn't know how to swim and he has to breath underwater for an hour.
You and Harry are in the library, searching for ways so he can breath underwater. After about an hour, Harry got tired and went to relax in the Gryffindor common room. He asked you to keep researching, and you do that.
Hermione comes up to you and says, 'Hi there, Y/N! What are you doing?' 'Harry wants me to search ways so he can breath underwater for the second task.' You explain. 'Can I help?' Hermione offers. You let her help, and the two of you talk a lot while researching.
Harry used Gillyweed for the second task, which Dobby, a house elf, gave to him. Apparently, he had to retrieve you — somebody precious to him, seeing as he's your best friend. (Sorry, Ron!) Once the second task is over, you realise that Hermione was Viktor Krum, the Durmstrang champion's person to retrieve.
Seeing as you wanted to take Hermione to the Yule Ball, but Krum ended up taking her, you feel a bit jealous — just a tiny bit — but you don't tell Hermione anything. You do tell Harry and Ron though, because you feel as if they might understand. 'I think you should make your move when the time is right,' they suggest. You take their advice, and wait patiently.
A lot of months pass, and it's now nearly the end of your fourth year. Hermione got top marks in all her exams, and you're happy for her! You realise that this might be the right time, and you just come up to her and kiss her. She's surprised, but she kisses you back.
"You're an idiot, L/N."
"I'll take that as a compliment, Granger. Now, what do you say to a Butterbeer at The Three Broomsticks?
