Chapter 4: "I can't give that to you just yet!

I nervously asked 'shadow' (which is what i'm calling him for now!) "What um... what do you want for dinner."

I heard him say quietly: "I want you"

I suddenly replied to him "Well, I can't give that to you just yet!"

When I looked at him, he was sort of shocked. I think he didn't think I actually heard that, and wasn't expecting a reply. But then he said quickly, "I um.. I want whatever's easiest for you to make! In fact, i'll help you!"

"Well, honestly I think a salad would be the easiest. It doesn't really require cooking and it's easy. But I don't know if it would be exactly good..."

"I don't care, let's make a salad... together, then!"

So then we made one, halfway through it, I turned around to get an ingredient from my counter island and he was... there. When I turned around he hugged me and said "I just wanted another hug... that's all" I blushed. No one had really given me a hug... ever. Or even wanted me to hug them. I realized I'd really been alone my whole life. Oh... did I mention? My parents had passed away just like Shadow's parents. He didn't say when but for me it was when I was 3. I got sent away to my brother, who was a lot older than me. My brother, Aiden, was always very busy working. At the time he lived in California. My homeplace was Washington State... so I've always had to travel a lot. Alone, most of the time. With Aiden not being there most of the time I learned how to be independent and care for myself. I never really got hugs from him either. I built a wall up for myself and shut out most of the outside world. With school I never had any friends, but I didn't mind honestly. I never got bullied, I was invisible, and glad I was invisible! I finally decided to go to college in Australia. I had loved Australia my whole entire life. So Aiden payed for my college fund and for most of my house being built. I thank him for that every time I see him/call him.

"I love your hugs" I said. There I went again. Saying how I felt out loud.
