Ruth and John walked through the Continental of Rome and smiled when they were greeted by the manager
"Jonathan! Ruth!"
"Julius."
"Julius!"
The older man smiled "Ciao. Nice to see you. I fail to remember the last time you were in Rome. And here I'd heard you had both retired."
"We did."
Julius smile turned slightly strained as he asked "Then indulge me with but one question." He gave them a pointed look "Are you here for the pope?"
Ruth laughed then, really laughed in a way she hadn't laughed in while, John gave an amused look before elbowing her and looking to Julius
"No." John shook his head and Julius nodded "All right, then..." He looked to Ruth "your families suite?"
"Grazie." Ruth smiled at Julius before the couple turned and walked away as the manager called "Enjoy your stay."
The couples next stop was the armourer his secretary greeted them

"Is the sommelier in?" John asked
"I have never known him not to be."
