Honkai Impact: Trigger Odyssey

Ch-5

[Encounter from the past]

In an underground research facility, several people are present, excavating many ancient artifacts. A certain site held much more significance due to Akito and Shizuma being present. The chairman stood watching while the younger man was busy tampering with his device.

"What do you think, Akito?"
Shizuma asked.

"There's no mistake ... This is a relic from the Ultra Ancient Civilization.."
Akito answered, looking at his tablet that was showing much of the information related to the said relic.

In front of them was a large sword-shaped rock structure that was in a reversed orientation. Several apparatus and cables were attached to the rock. The devices around the structure were beeping as they were picking up faint energy signatures.

"This releases the similar energy signature that Trigger has. In theory, it will react to him if he touches it."
Akito remarked as he continued skimming through the information he managed to gather so far.

"I see.. Then we'll need to have Kengo to advance the research."
Shizuma stated.

"Yes, but it might cause some adverse effects too. I need to research more into this. Give me more time, Chairman Shizuma."

"Very well. You may."

With his permission, Akito continued on his part of the research to find out more about the structure. Shizuma looked at the structure, reminiscing the tablet's drawing. The giant of light,
Trigger was using a sword. He had an idea that this structure was the sword that was sealed many years ago. The sword may have played a role back then, he presumed, so it was a much more important item for Trigger to have.

Today's class went on like usual, with no disturbances and thankfully, no alerts triggered by the Honkai. Although it did proceed normally, someone wasn't paying attention while the teacher continued.

And that someone was the new guy in St. Freya, Manaka Kengo.

"......"
Kengo's mind drifted off, lost within his own imagination.

He recalled the encounter with a lady in black dress. He remembered vividly the way she talks, in that she was very familiar with Trigger. He wanted to know about this, but his mind couldn't recall anything. All he saw from the memories of Trigger was just him, fighting 3 shadowy figures.

He wanted to ask Akito about this, but he couldn't get the chance previously. The seat behind him was empty, Akito was absent. Not because of him cutting classes, but was because of an "important job". Chairman Shizuma called him up, and thus he wasn't there. While he wanted to go with him, he was declined and that he should participate in the class.

Kengo just stared at the windows, until something snapped him out of his self-induced trance. A piece of chalk came flying towards him, hitting his head which caused him to snap out of his drifting mind. All eyes were onto him, specially the one who shot the chalk, who was their teacher, Himeko.

"While I don't mind what my students do, there's always consequences on not participating in class. Please pay attention, Kengo. You're a new student here, after all."
She calmly scolded at the young man.

"Y-yes Teacher Himeko..."
Kengo replied timidly, holding his head as winced from the pain.

"Going back....."
Himeko continued on her discussion.

A few were concerned like Mei, a few chuckled, including Kiana, some were indifferent like Bronya. Kengo rubbed onto his head and focused onto the class since he didn't want seconds with that.
