Honkai Impact: Trigger Odyssey

Ch-18

[A welcomed stranger]

The sky was clouded, showing no rays of sun light to a rundown building, which seemed to be an abandoned factory in the middle of forest. The walls had several dents due to an ongoing fight that was occuring. A honkai zombie was sent into a wall, crashing onto it before disappearing.

The fight involved lone male, Kengo and 3 zombies, 2 of which were dual-katana wielders, the Joyo-Ninja and the other was the scythe user, the Vigiles. Accompanying the zombies were a troop of Archangels, around 4 numbers. Apparently, the last remaining ones.

He stood infront of the group of honkai monster, with nothing more than his single firearm. The pair of Joyo-ninja launched themselves at him, attempting to cut him. He held his hand up and projects his barrier, blocking their blades before pushing barrier to them, thus sending them away. Coming next was the Vigiles that swings its scythe at him. He ducked down to avoid it then swiping his legs to knock it off balance. Using his gun, he shot at the zombie several times until it was gone.

Sensing some danger, he leaps up into the air. His act allowed him to dodge the incoming tackle of the two honkai beasts. He loaded a key into his gun before aiming it at the first two Archangels and pulled the Trigger. A blue lightning bolt emerged from the barrel and hits the targets, destroying them swiftly as he landes. Coming out of the smoke were the second pair of Archangels that rushed to him. He held his free hand up and erected a barrier to block them. However, the pair of Joyo-ninja appared behind him and was about to strike his back.

He held his gun up and fired many times. However, one them was only struck and was successfully eliminated while the other proceeded. The single dual wielding honkai zombie managed to get right up and close to him and was about to strike him down.

But it stopped and then turned into pixels, as well as the remaining honkai beasts. Then, the entire place turned into pixels and disappeared, revealing metallic walls. Infront of him were a single window which showed Kiana, Mei, Bronya, Himeko and Akito that were behind.

"Not bad."
Himeko remarked with a grin.

"There could be some improvements, but the fact you dealt with it properly is pretty good."
She said.

Kengo could only sigh as he fell down on his buttocks and heaved a sigh.

"That was nerve-wracking..."
He muttered tiredly.

"I'd say, you're certainly good."
Himeko remarked.

"A step-up compared to the first time."
Bronya remarked.

"Of course! We helped him out."
Kiana remarked proudly.

"Right, Mei-senpai?"

Mei nodded happily and soon gave a smug at Akito to which he just rolled his eye over.

"Oh yeah. Akito, Kengo. You're gonna meet your squad leader later on. Once you get your passes, he'll be the Captain in your missions."
Himeko told them before taking her leave.

"I wonder who will that be."
Kengo muttered as he drank from his water bottle.

"Not sure. But I frankly don't care."
Akito shrugged.

"Akito you're kinda mean..."

"Shut it."

"I wanna get some sleep..."
Kengo yawned out in front of the dining table he shared with team V and Akito.

"Kengo, I know you're tired but please don't yawn at the table. We have our food here."
Mei scoldee him.

"My bad..."
