After kurukshetra war , Pandavas ruled hastinapur for 36 years . One day they decided to renounce this world . They decided to climb mount someru on the advice of sage vyasa which was believed to lead them to heaven . They left the kingdom in hands of parikshat who was their grandson , son of abhimanyu and uttara .

On their journey everyone where quiet but deeply immersed in their own thoughts .

Arjuna was thinking about karna .His arch rival , who was also his eldest brother . The truth was shocking to him when he heard it but it didn't reduce the hatred he had harboured towards karna. His brothers were shedding tears when they heard the truth from his mother kunti but he knew like him his brothers were just acting . How could they forget all those hatred they had accumulated all their life in just seconds just because they were related by blood . He even doubted his mother's sudden love towards karna . When he was alive she got many chances when she could have told them that he was their brother and maybe If she had done that earlier they could have accepted him as their brother but she didn't . She waited until his death. She had revealed the truth only because she wanted them to perform his last rites . Did she really love him ? . Maybe she realised that he was also her son after he died . Whatever he was sure she never loved him as much as she loved them . He was an illegitimate son afterall , not like them .She even saved the life of his brothers by asking karna to spare them and his arch rival was foolish enough to give promise to his mother who only did nothing other than give birth to him . For them she was perfect mother . They obeyed her every words and she loved them more than anything . If she had drowned karna in the river instead of leaving him floating in a basket , their life would have been much better without him . It was because of him that they had to go through all the miseries in their life .

They were born as princes but he was born as suta . Though he was suta he got everything easily , while they had to face so many hardships to get their rights of kingship . He still remembered the first time when he saw karna during kalapradarshan . He was so handsome , he had never seen anyone so handsome. He felt jealous just by his looks . Even his brother nakula who always prided over his looks would come nowhere near him . His confidence when he was speaking . His clever replies when guru drona tried to stop him . But they failed their attempts to stop him when duryodhana made him king of Anga . Everyone among the crowd who supported him before where now supporting this new stranger . Then the duel started . He was attacking karna with all the techniques he had learned from his guru drona but Karna was countering his every arrow with such an ease that made arjuna worry , he even had beautiful smile plastered on his face which made him feel like karna was mocking him . It became clear to him that karna was better than him and he was worried to loose infront of everyone . Luckily sun had set before karna could defeat him . Just before his guru asked them to stop as it was against rules to continue after sunset, arjuna had sent a deadly arrow towards karna which was going to hit karna but he didn't counter it , he just stood there smiling . Then everyone understood why he was not even trying to save himself .when the arrow was about to hit karna a golden kavatch appeared magically which looked devine and the brightness emitted from it blinded everyone for a few seconds , the arrow was destroyed on its impact with the kavatch , then it disappeared . It was able to protect him even from most powerful astras . This added more fuel to arjuna's jealousy towards karna . His arch rival was impossible to defeat . There was no way he could kill him in a battle . After this he had only one goal in life , killing karna and let the world know that he was the best Archer .

He felt most happy when draupadi rejected karna based on caste . But again it puzzled him at the time that karna was not angry or disappointed rather he looked happy . Even when karna was stringing the bow he was doing it so carelessly that being an Archer arjuna was certain that karna would fail hitting the target because the string was tied so loose . Was he trying to fail on purpose ? . Draupadi was known for her beauty , she was regarded as most beautiful women of aryavrat. When everyone was trying their best to win her , his arch rival was trying to lose the competition which would make people think he was not a great archer as they all believed . He understood that draupadi's rejection actually favoured him because now nobody would question his talent as he was simply rejected and that was the reason why he looked happy at her rejection . But why would he try to lose in the competition when everyone were trying so hard to win draupadi? This question would linger on his mind for a long time and one day he got his answers . It was during raja suya yagna when every king and their families where invited to take part in the rituals of making yudhishthira samrat of aryavrata . Karna came with his wife vrushali . He had seen many women in his life . Even married most of the beautiful women he had laid eyes on . But no one , not even draupadi could match vrushali . She looked like goddess , perfect in every sense . He kept looking at her whenever he got a chance but her eyes where only set on her husband .
He finally got his answer to why he was trying to fail in draupadi's swayamvar.
Even draupadi got jealous seeing vrushali and once she had asked him whether vrushali was more beautiful than her . He didn't want to disappoint draupadi so he lied to her . But in truth vrushali was way... more beautiful according to him . He wondered how a women of suta caste could be so.. beautiful .
