A boy younger than all of them laid dead in front of them. He had a chunk of his forehead missing, showing some of his rotten brain. His dead cold eyes stared blankly up at the sky. He was wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans, and a pair of gray converse. The middle of his shirt had a big hole in it, and his chest was ripped open. The eleven teenagers decided to leave the body where it is. Trying to avoid looking at the corpse, Rosina kept her head down, while she went to Shadow and put him back in the bag. They started to run again, and they didn't know where they were going.
All they knew was that they had to get away from the zombies before they were eaten alive like Anna was. Eric tried hard not to think about what happened to her, what it really felt like. Keep running, do it for her. Don't look back, he told himself. They ran for 2-3 hours, and they were getting tired, thirsty, and hungry. None of them thought about bringing food or water with them before they left the house. But they knew that they couldn't stop and rest or they would end up like Anna.
The eleven of them kept running until they came across a hotel. The building was at least eight stories tall and the double doors were hanging off their hinges. They walked into the lobby, looked around, and this is what they saw. Lifeless bodies were scattered all over the floor, all of the chairs and tables were flipped over. Stuffing was sticking out of the chairs, the wooden tables were in piles of broken pieces.
They also saw that there was a restaurant, indoor pool, and a arcade. The group decided to take showers before they were going to eat.
They walked over to the elevators, and Dylan pressed the "Up" arrow. They waited for one of the elevators to open, and finally one of them did. Dylan, Peter, Eric, Frank, and the others all stepped into the elevator, then Eric pressed the seventh floor button. The elevator ride took awhile but the doors opened and they stepped out into the seventh floor hallway. Dylan and Peter both looked to each side of the hallway, and they decided that they should all get their own rooms. But the rooms had to be close to each other. They walked down the hall and they picked out their own rooms. Each of them grabbed the door knobs, turned them, and entered their hotel rooms. When they were in the bathroom, they stripped their clothes off, then they got into the shower. Warm water came out of the shower heads, the steam fogging up the mirrors. All of the teenagers let out a sigh of relief as the water ran down their bodies. Fifteen minutes later, they were all in the hallway. Rosina gave Shadow a bath so the dog was nice and clean. They went back into the elevator with the dog behind them. The elevator doors closed in front of them as Eric pushed the first floor button.
Finally, they arrived on the first floor, so they all stepped out of the elevator and into the lobby. They rushed over to the restaurant, with Shadow running ahead of them. They went past all the tables and chairs, heading straight for the kitchen. Once they were in the kitchen, the eleven of them started to search the cabinets and fridge. They found a load of food, so they sat on the counters, scattered around the kitchen. The eleven teenagers ate in silence then after they were done eating, they went back up to their rooms. They all said goodnight to each other then they went to sleep.
