They were on the fifth floor when two girls and four boys came running towards them. The six teenagers stopped in their tracks. "Who are you?" Jacob asked the other group of teenagers. "I'm Abigail, and this is Riley, Alex, Max, Ricky, and Connor." Abigail said. Abigail, Riley, Alex, and Max all had metal crossbows in their hands. There were straps on the bottom so that they could sling the crossbows over their shoulders. Each of the four teenagers had a quiver for their bolts on their backs.
Ricky had a 243 rifle while Connor had a rifle and a hatchet. Rosina felt the mail-delivery bag start to wiggle at her side. She was about to take off the delivery bag off her shoulder when Shadow poked his head out of the bag. "Cute dog!" Abigail said, her eyes on the dog. "Thanks," Rosina said, looking down at Shadow. "Let's get to the helicopter." Alex said, looking back over his shoulder.
The fourteen teenagers continued going up the stairs. They were on the seventh floor when they heard pounding coming from the last door on the left at the end of the hallway. Abigail, Riley, Max, and Alex all got their crossbows ready, each of them sliding a bolt into place. They aimed their crossbows down the hall, waiting for the door to open. The door slammed open, a giant horde of zombies piling out into the hallway. The zombies all turned their heads so that they were staring at the fourteen teenagers.
The horde of zombies started to run toward the fourteen teenagers. All of the teenagers ran up the stairs, their feet pounding on the concrete stairs. They could hear the zombies coming after them. Finally, they made it to the roof. Peter threw the door open, and all of the fourteen teenagers piled out onto the roof. "Jane and Daniel, get the door!" Dylan said, staring through the open door.
Both Daniel and Jane rushed over to the door, and slammed it shut. The two of them pressed their backs against the metal door. On the other side of the door, the horde of zombies started to pound on the door. Dylan, Frank, and the rest of the teenagers ran over to the edge of the roof. They came to a stop and looked down. They were high above the ground, and at the bottom of the hospital, another horde of zombies were pouding on the glass doors.
"We can't hold them off much longer!" Daniel yelled over to Peter, pushing his weight against the door. "There's the helicopter! Come on!" Dylan yelled, pointing over to the far right side of the roof. "Jane, Daniel, let's go!" Peter yelled over to the two teenagers. Both Jane and Daniel looked at each other and they took off running to the helicopter. The metal door burst open, and the horde of zombies came pouring out onto the roof. The zombies took off running after the fourteen teenagers.
The group of survivors were almost to the helicopter when a zombie yanked the mail-delivery bag off of Rosina's shoulder. "Shadow!" she screamed. Daniel and Riley stayed on the roof with Max and Jane as the rest of the teenagers got on the helicopter. "Jane, cover me!" Max told Jane, going back to get the bag. The two of them fought their way through the horde. Max reached the bag and he quickly grabbed it, with Shadow still inside the bag. Both Max and Jane rushed back to the helicopter, the delivery bag over Max's shoulder.
He slung the bag off his shoulder and handed it to Rosina. She looked at him as she received the bag. "Thanks, Max," she told him, clutching the bag close to her chest. "No problem." he said, then he looked over his shoulder. "Come on, you guys! Hurry up!" Frank yelled at Jane, Daniel, Riley, and Max. "Give me your hand!" Jacob told Max, his arm stretched out. Max grabbed ahold of Jacob's hand and Jacob started to pull him into the helicopter.
Before Max was in the helicopter, a zombie grabbed him by the shoulders and pulled him back. "Max, no! NO!" Susie yelled, watching as Max got pulled back onto the roof. "Peter, let's go!" Frank said, staring at him. Peter started the helicopter up and it started to rise off of the ground. "Hey!" Jane, Daniel, Riley, and Max all yelled as they watched the helicopter take off. The four teenagers were left on the roof, their ammo for their weapons were running low. The four of them were trying to fight for their lives, but soon, they were outnumbered. The other ten teenagers watched as their friends got surrounded and were ripped to shreds by the zombies.
