Beep… Beep… Beep… Beep……. The beeping stopped.

Darkness. That’s what I saw.

Silence. That’s what I heard.

In such a quiet and dark world, the girl who isn’t afraid of anything, was suddenly afraid.

I was absolutely terrified. My imagination took control, as I saw dark shadows among the corners of the dark room slithering, fading in and out.  It’s so cold here.

“Hello?” I cried out, but only came out as below a whisper. “Is anyone there?” I croaked. But again, the darkness swallowed my voice.

‘Go to sleep, young one…’ Slurred a voice. ‘Everything will be alright… Just go to sleep…’ The shadow chanted, lurking from the shadows huddling around me. Something was not right. The instinct in my gut was yelling at me not to listen to this… creature. ‘Fight,’ my conscience screamed.

‘Quickly, before it’s too late… Take my hand and join me,’ insisted the shadows. I hesitated, not knowing what to do. I felt the shadows tug at my hand, as the cold darted up my spine, sending shivers over my whole body. I took my hand away.

A beam of light darted in front of my eyes. It was warm and welcoming, and from above a heard a faint voice. His voice was soft and soothing. It was ensuring and I didn’t feel so afraid anymore.

‘Noo,’ the voices screamed in a whisper. My hand approached the light and the warmth instantly lured me to it. Suddenly, I went through a series of lightness and darkness and brought me back to darkness. But this darkness wasn’t the same as before. I heard voices murmuring, in a light buzz.

Beep…. Beep…. Beep…

Where am I?

I felt a warm hand grip mine. My eye lids immediately swung open, reacting to this as an electric pulse went throughout my whole body. And before me, was something I did not expect.

Those brown eyes… So familiar… Yet I couldn’t put my finger on it.  I awed at them in wonder, placing my hand on this stranger’s face. His eyes… So welcoming and assuring, they gave me a warm funny feeling and. I finally felt safe.. A sigh of relief escaped my lips and immediately the corners of my mouth turned into a grin. The man said nothing, but simply smiled back at me in return, rubbing my hand softly. Am I dreaming? The man before me appeared to seem like an angel.

Reality slowly came back as sounds washed back into my ears.

“You’re going to be okay. You’re going to make it,” the man softly reassured.

“Are you an angel?” I fainted asked, smiling.

Beep… beep… beep…

I looked at him in confusion, and that’s when I realised… I gasped in shock and let go of his hands, in embarrassment. I felt my face quickly heat up, as the blood rushed to my face. Oh no… What the heck did I just say? The man chuckled sweetly placing his cool hand on my face. Goose bumps arose from my skin, making me jump from his touch.

“Tyler?”
