"Tyler?"
He sweetly beamed at me, nodding his head in addition to his curls bouncing along to his movement. There he was, literally a few centimetres away from my face, with his palm still resting on my hot flushing cheeks. I could even feel his cool minty breaths on my face. He was close enough just to... I flinched at the thought.
I rapidly moved my head away from his, so far that my face was no longer in his arm's reach. In this awkward situation, I chewed on my bottom lip. My eyes darted around the hospital room, attempting my best to avoid eye contact. I felt my heart beat faster and faster, accelerating speed like a runaway train.
Beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep
"Woah, woah! Calm down tiger!" He softly chuckled, looking at my heart monitor.
"Sorry, I can't help it," I said in discomfort, "I get shy," I smiled wryly. I felt my cheeks begin to heat up again, as I imagined a deep shade of red painted my face.
"You new in town?" He asked, ignoring my bright red mask.
"Nope, I've lived here all my life..." I faked a smile. Of course he didn't know who I am, nobody does, because I am a nobody. Instead of going to the beach, I'd rather stay at home by the pool reading a good book. Instead of talking in class, I'd much prefer to keep my head up listening attentively in class, with my incredibly nerdy glasses. I wasn't particularly shocked or offended that he thought I was new in town.
"Oh... Sorry, it's just I've never seen you around before." I shrugged, followed with a forgiving smile. "You almost died, you know that right? You're extremely lucky." He assured me.
"Lucky to be alive, or lucky to be saved by you?" I playfully asked.
He raised his eyebrow in confusion, "Excuse me?" When I realised what I had just said, I felt the blood rush to my face again. Instead I replied with, "Yeah, I know I'm lucky. I might have a purpose on this Earth after all," I sighed.
"Hey, don't say that!" Tyler gave me a little push, causing me to wince. "Of course you have a purpose here, don't be silly. You're noticed more than you think," he finished with a smile. He slowly got up from his seat, gathering his things. "I'm glad you're okay. If you need anything, you'll know where I'll be." He started making his way to the door. "Oh, and by the way, I'm still waiting for that thank you for saving your life," Tyler stated.
"Well then... I'm sorry to disappoint you. Keep on dreaming, lifeguard," I said in a husky and sexy voice. Tyler's face instantly lightened up, eyes wide open, surprised with my cocky response.
''I'll get you back for that," he whispered, and simply left the room. I was left in complete shock. Never in my life had a guy noticed me, not to mention that he's 'The Hot Lifeguard.' I was completely wonderstruck, lost for words.
No. No.
I can't do this. I can't be possibly falling for him. I refuse to be just like all of those bimbo girls.
I don't have feelings for him.
Or do I?
