CHAPTER TWO FIGHT DAY
I got woken up at six in the morning by banging on my door. I grumble and get up to open the door. Opening the door, I find my Dad and two of my brothers waiting for me.
"Matchday!" My Dad yells as he walks past me and into my house, I roll my eyes and turn to follow him. Moose trails right behind me.
"You know, you would think I would be used to this early morning start from you guys on fight days but surprisingly, I'm not," I say, walking behind my dad while he walks to my kitchen.
"Don't lie and say you don't like us coming around," Alex says. Oscar is right behind us looking like he was sleeping in the car. Arms crossed while he still had the hood of his sweater up and he was looking like he was trying to catch the lost sleep he lost by staying up too late while playing on his PS4.
"You know what's surprising? Still being woken up by our dad at five thirty in the morning at our grown ass age" Oscar says and Alex and I hide our laughter, knowing Dad can hear us.
"If you are so grown, act like it!" Dad says from the kitchen, knowing well Oscar was the one who got the idea to jump off the roof of Dads house into the pool, then encourage the rest of us to do it. It ended with Vivianna crying because she wanted to follow us, her siblings, and Dad made it a rule that we cannot all go out to the pool in his house without his supervision. It was a pretty high jump, maybe that's why Oscar wanted to do it so badly.
I sit in the middle of Alex and Oscar on my kitchen island while Dad cooks us breakfast. My Mom was the main cook when she was alive, since she died Dad had to take over and has become a master cook with time. Lizzie has also helped him a couple of times and has sent over a couple of recipes she thought he would like after she figured out the situation.
Lizzie.
I'm meeting her boyfriend, Robbie, today. I'm not nervous, if anything Robbie should be the nervous one. While I'm also getting ready for my fight, I'm also getting rid of the frustration of meeting yet another one of her boyfriends and trying to pretend to be fine with it.
I'm not frustrated with Lizzie for getting a boyfriend, I'm also not frustrated with Robbie for dating her. I'm frustrated with myself yet again. I have had all the time in the world to be transparent with Lizzie and tell her everything. What didn't help was having stupid flings and girlfriends I got just to distract myself away from Lizzie.
Lizzie usually sits in the front when I'm in a match with anyone that I brought along with me. Usually, it would be my family. There were moments when I got one of my girlfriends, now ex, a ticket and she had to sit next to Lizzie. Let's just say Lizzie and my ex didn't have the best time.
Today, Lizzie is sitting in the middle of the crowds since she didn't want anyone to catch her with Robbie. It bums me out that I won't see her cheer for me, catch her smile at me, or see her joke with my Dad and brothers. Vivianna isn't allowed to come to my fights for obvious reasons but I knew if she could join she would be attached to Lizzie the whole time.
