The next morning came and Gill was running late. Even though his alarm clock was set at a reasonable time, he took his time getting out of bed and insisted on having at least two cups of coffee before he left his apartment. He slipped his shoes on and headed for the front door, keys in hand. He called back into the apartment as he opened the door. "Yo, Azzy! I'm headin' out! I'll see ya later!"
"Alright," A female voice called back. "Try not to get your butt kicked while you're out. That's my job." Chuckling to himself, he left and locked the door behind him.

Crash and Jimbo were outside the Juicy Dino at the agreed time, half past nine in the morning and were waiting for Gill to show up. Jimbo looked at his watch, slightly concerned. "It's a good thing we agreed to meet half an hour before Dr. Raye expects us at the lab. Where the heck is Gill?" Crash shrugged in response.
"Probably slept in. I'm sure he's on his way though."

As if on cue, Gill approached from the other side of the street, a visible cut on his mouth.
"Did you fall out of bed and faceplant the floor again?" Crash asked, to which Gill replied with words that are best not repeated, before telling them that he'd gotten into a fight on the bus, which got him kicked off, which was his reason for being late. Jimbo shook his head and sighed. "Do you think you can behave yourself when we meet Dr. Raye?" He asked. Gill nodded his response. "Yeah, don't worry. It's outta my system now."
"Great, then let's get going." Jimbo ordered and the three began their walk to the scientist's lab.

They arrived at Dr. Raye's residence which was not far from the campus of the city's college that they had attended a year earlier. Jimbo explained to Crash and Gill on the walk over there that the doctor was a professor at the city's university, by which his laboratory was being funded. They arrived at a rather nice-looking house. Almost a mansion really. "Oh man," Gill remarked. "This Dr. Grey dude must be loaded!"
"You bet," Jimbo replied,(not even bothering to correct Gill on the scientist's name). "He's made a few major contributions to transmogrification technology. I'm surprised we've never heard of him before now." The three approached the large, fancy-looking gate and Jimbo pressed a button on the intercom and a face appeared on the machine's small screen. "Ah, James my boy. So glad you made it. Do come in." A delighted-sounding voice on the other end replied and the gates slowly creaked open, allowing them entry.

As they walked up the long driveway, a figure emerged from the front door to greet them. The man was a typical-looking scientist type who was past his best years, sporting a shiny bald head, round spectacles, a long white lab coat and a grey, bushy moustache that almost resembled a pair of wings and seemed like it was about to take off and fly away at any moment. "James, my boy," He said, as he shook the youngest of the group's hand. "So good of you to come." He said and looked at Crash and Gill "And you boys too. Thank you for being such good sports. The advancement of science simply can't happen without volunteers."
"You got it, doc," Gill replied. "Happy to do it. You just tell us what you need and we're there."
"An excellent attitude, dear boy." The scientist said, clapping two hands together. "Now, come with me and you'll see the fruits of my labour."

They followed Dr. Raye through the large house and down into a basement that was well equipped with strange machines and instruments that the boys had never seen anything like. Dr. Raye soon showed them what they were there for. Against the far wall were four large containers, easily big enough to fit a fully grown human inside.
"These, my boys, are what many years and hundreds of thousands of dollars have been spent on." The proud doctor explained as he walked over to a separate machine that had long, thick wires connecting it to the containers. "These capsules work in conjunction with this control console. Those capsules will turn any human inside them into what I call Dyno-morphs. I'm sure, James has explained all this to you, boys." Crash and Gill confirmed this with a nod. "Good," Raye continued. "I have everything in place and all I need are volunteers to help me prove that it works and is perfectly safe." He then pressed a button on the console and the doors of the containers opened. "So if you boys would be kind enough to step into the capsules, we can begin. But you may want to remove your shirts and shoes at the very least. A sudden increas in your physical sizes will destroy them quite easily." The boys followed his advice and Gill and Jimbo were straight into a capsule, followed by Crash, who hesitated for mere seconds before entering the third capsule.

Dr. Raye began pressing more buttons on the control console. "James, my boy, you'll take the form of something that suits that husky frame of yours. Crash and Gill, I'll give you both something that suits those lovely but unusual names of yours." Hitting a few more buttons, he placed one hand on a large switch on the side of the console. "Are you boys ready?" With three confirmations, he threw the switch and the capsules began flashing with bright green lights which reflected powerfully off of the scientist's glasses as he smiled in anticipation of the results of his experiment.

A few seconds felt like minutes as Raye waited anxiously, keeping an eye on the screen of his control panel. Once the screen flashed green, he pushed the lever back into its previous position, the bright green glow from the capsules faded, the doors opened and three magnificent creatures emerged from the transmogrification chambers. Tall, muscular, human-shaped dinosaurs of different species stood before the scientist who stared in wonderment at them.

They all stared in amazement at each other as they stood in a triangle. "It...worked?" Crash asked.
"Heck yeah it did!" Gill answered. "We're Dino-ma-bobs!"
"Dyno-morphs." Jimbo corrected. "Wow, Crash, you're a pterodactyl!" He said as he looked at his friend.
"And you're a massive triceratops!" Came Crash's reply and the two then looked at Gill, unsure what his species was. He was toned but slender with webbed hands and feet, a long fanged snout and a long fin-like tail. Almost resembling a shark with blue-grey skin. "Well, what am I?" Gill asked. "I bet it's something dumb isn't it?"
"Far from it, my boy." Dr. Raye answered as he walked over to them. "You're a tylosaurus. A deadly aquatic predator."
"Wow. I like it!" Gill said as he looked down at his new body.
"You'll now find that certain attributes will be much more refined than when you are in your human forms." Raye informed. "Jimbo, you will find that I have gifted you with vastly increased intellect as well as a much more muscular frame." He then looked at Crash. "You Crash, can fly and have much more agility and faster reflexes." He then turned to Gill. "And you, my friend will find yourself to be far more athletic now, your powerful legs able to run and swim faster than any human, you can survive indefinitely underwater thanks to your gills, and those jaws of yours, hoho, I'll be surprised if they can't bite through steel."

The three humanoids spent a moment marvelling at their amazing new forms and Raye spoke once more. "I'm glad you boys like your new forms. I know you were cautious about being stuck in these bodies, and I know I'm about to come on rather strong, but now that you've had a taste of being Dyno-morphs, might I be able to persuade you to stay this way permanently? You see, using the machines a lot would be very costly and I could certainly use three fine young men like yourselves to help me in my upcoming plans." Jimbo and Crash were already a little reserved about what the scientist was about to propose but Gill more than liked the idea of staying this way. But then came the doctor's proposal.

"Creating enhanced humans with the DNA of dinosaurs is but one of my scientific visions. I have many dreams that need to be realized and I can't do it without, err...help."
"What kind of help, doc?" Gill asked, an air of caution about his voice.
"Well, to put it simply, boys...it will take funds, as science often does. A lot of it. I will need you boys to gather such a resource for me as well as to hinder the progress of my scientific rivals."
"But how would we make money for you?" Jimbo asked. "I don't think making appearances at kids' parties and doing odd jobs would be enough to make that kind of money." Crash nodded in agreement, just as stuck on the idea as Jimbo was but Gill stood with his arms folded, fully understanding what was going on and with a look of slight contempt on his face as he looked at Raye. "Oh come now, James," The scientist said. "You're the intelligent one. I'm sure you can use your imagination."
"We've been had, boys," Gill finally chimed in. "He's talking about destroying other scientists' gear while robbing  banks and other juicy heist targets. He's beefed us up so we can be his evil henchmen!" The other two gasped and growled in annoyance as they looked back at Dr. Raye.
"Now boys, please think about this carefully," He explained, stepping back while trying to remain calm and collected. "Yes, I deceived you and I apologize but this is an excellent opportunity for us all. Not only will my lifelong goals finally be accomplished but you boys will be well compensated for your efforts. With the money we make, you'll be able to have anything you want. Again, I implore you. Don't be rash. Consider it carefully."

The Dyno-morphs spent all of two seconds between them before each gave their answer.
"I'm sorry, doctor, but in good conscience, I simply can't fulfil such requests."
"I've never robbed in my life! I can't do that!"
"I ain't goin' back to jail for no one. Not even a rich egghead!"
Dr. Raye sighed at their answers. "I see. More ungrateful creations that don't appreciate what I have given them." He then lifted his left arm and pressed a button on a device that resembled a watch.
"He's callin' for backup." Gill warned sharply.
"Not to worry, I suppose," The doctor continued. "I'm sure I can find others that will be willing to help me. But you boys, I'm afraid need to be destroyed, just like some of my past volunteers. Can't have Dyno-morphs running around the city and potentially exposing me now, can I?"

The tension only rose when an automatic sliding door opened up and five robots that resembled humanoid spinosaurus and were almost as big as Jimbo walked into the room. Unaware of what these robots were capable of, the Dyno-morphs froze as they were quickly surrounded.
"Anyone got a plan?" Gill asked nervously and before anyone could answer, the doctor gave his command.
"Spinotrons...destroy them!" The robots attacked without a microsecond of hesitation, brandishing steel claws that looked as though they could slice through concrete and the Dyno-morphs acted just as quickly, surprising themselves with their own speed, reflexes and combat instincts. While they were initially scared almost stiff by the intimidating death machines, the Dyno-morphs soon found they were more than a match for the mechanical imitations. The ensuing fight was over rather quickly as the boys' new skills were expertly demonstrated. Crash evaded their attacks easily as he leapt, rolled and swooped around the lab on his powerful wings, Gill clawed them to bits, tripped them with his tail and chomped through them almost effortlessly with his new jaws and Jimbo used his immense strength to his advantage, charging into them with his horns and lifting them into the air and throwing them into one another. Crash Observed Gill's reaction to being punched in the face and tripped over by a Spinotron's tail. Quickly regaining his feet, Gill roared in frustration, his eyes giving off an eerie pale blue glow as he shoved his right hand through his attacker's chest and pulled out its power supply and smashing the rest of it to bits with his tail.

Only a couple of minutes had passed before the robots were reduced to a pile of scrap metal at the feet of the Dyno-morphs, who stood victoriously over their broken remains.
"You guys okay?" Gill asked and his allies responded in the positive. "Is that all you got, Cueball?" Gill then asked and the mad scientist smiled sinisterly.
"Why I'm so glad you asked," He replied. "Those Spinotrons were unarmed. This time, I'm not testing you!" He then pressed another button on the device on his wrist and more of his robot dinosaurs entered the room. This time there were too many to count and they were holding what appeared to be large energy based firearms. "Blast them!" The room quickly filled with laserfire and the Dyno-morphs knew immediately that this was a fight they could not win. The three ran from the room and up the stairs out of the basement. Not wasting time getting to the front door, Jimbo charged into a wall, smashing straight through it. "This way!" He yelled and they fled the house as Jimbo opened up an exit for them.
