With Walker on top of Caitlin, he looked at her as she turned underneath him.
"Get off of me." Caitlin ordered, pushing him off and standing up. She brushed herself off before crossing her arms. "What the heck?"
"No, you don't get to be mad at me. You ran away."
"You ran after me!"
"Of course I did!"
"Why?"
"Because I want you to be safe!"
"You're not my brother!"
"No, he's not." A voice interjected. Ryan stood next to Walker with his arms crossed. "Caitlin."
"Don't. Don't Caitlin me. I hate you! I hate everyone in this stupid family!" Caitlin screeched. It caused a scene but none of the three seemed to care.
"Stop it! You don't talk about your sisters or mom like that." Ryan pointed a finger.
"You don't control me." Caitlin growled through gritted teeth. "You're not my dad."
"Actually, I am. I have authority over you and you're grounded."
"I'm 15, can you really ground me?" Caitlin rolled her eyes.
"Don't give me that attitude lady. I can do whatever I want and you're grounded. Two weeks."
"Good. Then I won't have to be around you."
"Get in the car."
"I'll walk."
"Get in the car."
"I heard you the first time. I said I would walk."
"Get in the car, Caitlin!"
Caitlin pursed her lips, before walking up to her father and glaring at him. Then she looked at Walker and elbowed him in the ribs as she walked past. He acted accordingly. Although Walker had just been elbowed in the ribs, he was glad they had found Caitlin. He was worried about her and now she was safe. He was also glad the conversation between her and her father was over as Walker just stood there. It felt awkward to him.

Back at home, Caitlin went straight to her room. Not only because she was told to but because she wanted to. She loved her room. There were no people, no loud noises, no rules. Well, obviously there were rules that Caitlin had installed for whenever someone comes in the room although the rules only apply to her parents. They are as follow; no sitting or lying on the bed because then it gets messed up. No shoes when walking on the rug in front of her bed and no eating her chocolate stash as well as leaving and closing the door when you do and if the light was off when you walked in, it should be off when you leave. All the rules were always obeyed by her mother. Her father, not so much. He thought some of the rules didn't apply to him or he just didn't know them as he would walk on the rug with his shoes on and no doubt go through her candy stash.

Through the thin walls of the house, Caitlin could hear her parents that she didn't consider parents bickering in the living room.
"She ran away?!"
"Yes, that's why she's in her room as we speak!"
"You can't ground her!"
"Yes I can! I have authority over her!"
"She'll never think of us as her parents if you ground her! She's only been here a couple weeks. She's probably stressed and I know she hates having to go to all your interviews."
"I'm trying to keep her busy so she's not bored like Betty always is."
"She's 15! It's what 15 year-olds do! They sit in their rooms and go out late with their friends. Having a dad take care of her 24/7 is not gonna help her in life and it's embarrassing. That's what my dad did when I was 16."
"I just want her to be social."
"And how is she supposed to do that when she's locked in her room?"
Silence.
"Fine. She can be ungrounded but I still want her to at least be nice to Walker."
"What do you mean?"
"In the studio, I found Walker sitting in a room by himself. I think she said something to him that hurt him. I will not allow that." Ryan ordered.
"Okay, I'll talk to her. Now go back to the studio, they need you there."
"Yeah. Alright, bye, love you."
"Love you too."
A door slammed shut before Caitlin jumped back into her bed and picked up her phone before there was a knock on her own door. "Come in!"
Her mom walked in and sat on her bed. "Can we talk? Oh, sorry. I know you don't like it when people sit on your bed." Her mother stood up and sat in the chair next to the desk. "So can we talk?"
Caitlin put her phone on the bed, willingly. "Sure. What is there to talk about? Dad is just clingy."
"I know he is. It's embarrassing, isn't it?" Caitlin agreed. "So I've talked to your father and you're ungrounded."
"What if I don't want to be?"
"Well you are. He said he wants you to be more social."
Caitlin scoffed. "Does he know me? He doesn't even know his own daughter."
Her mother chuckled. "And he has four of them. None of which he can remember the eye colour nor birthday of each."
"He sucks."
"He does but he's also a dad that cares. That's better than no dad at all."
"Not true." Caitlin frowned, shaking her head. "I went years without a father and was out into many shelters and I was fine. Probably better there than I am here."
"You're just not used to being here. It might take a few days, weeks, months or years to get used to us and our weird family but you'll get it. Just like how you got used to living at all those shelters."
"Yeah, maybe. Probably not." Caitlin shrugged.
"Don't say that, be hopeful! At least now you have a family. Now, I also heard that you and Walker had an argument or something."
"It wasn't an argument. It was being nosey and kept coming up to me. He doesn't understand that sometimes a girl needs space."
"Ugh." Her mother shook her head. "Boys, am I right?"
"Yeah."
"Maybe just try being nicer, Caitlin. It could do something for you. It'll give you a life here in Vancouver. We're Canadian, we're nice people."
"I'm not. I'm not Canadian." Caitlin frowned at the thought of being excluded.
"Sorry, I didn't mean it like that. It's just- try, okay? At least try."
"At what? Being nice?"
"Yes, Caitlin. Trust me, it'll do you good." And leaving Caitlin to think about that on her own, she left, closing the door behind her, of course.
