Marlee's POV
I just moved to Outer-banks North Carolina about a week ago with my mom for a new job. I used to live in Hawaii and even I miss my friends and family I can tell I'm gonna have good life here. I just finished making dinner for myself since my moms new job involves her having a lot of hours which means I'm always home alone. I decided to go for a drive and get to know the island a little more. I make my way out of my neighborhood. I live in the cut by the way. Which means we leave on poor side of the island. It's been about 15 minutes and drive to the beach and park my car and make my way to the beach. As I'm walking I enjoy the warm soft sand and the fresh breeze and calm water. After I find a spot that's isn't so fool of people I sit down and enjoy the sunset as the sun sits off the water. As I'm looking out at the water I see a group of teens around my age surfing and reminds of me of my friends and I in Hawaii surfing, hanging-out, partying, having fun. I start to remember all my memories with my friends when I hear faint footsteps coming towards me. "Hi my name is Kie, you must be new. Do you surf?" I pretty curly girl asks me."Hi my name is Marlee, yeah I love to surf did it a lot back home. Nice to meet you" I say to her while I reach out my hand to shake. "Really, where you from?" She asks while she smiles. "I'm from Hawaii it's beautiful here by the way kinda reminds of home" I smile back. "Wow Hawaii I hear it's beautiful and has amazing waves to surf like all the time. Do you miss it?" She asks while 3 boys coming walking out of the water. "Yeah I do, and the waves they were perfect" I replied back. "Who's your new friend Kie?" One of the boys asks. "This is Marlee, she's from Hawaii and she just moved here" she says. "I'm Pope" says the boy with dark skin while the other two boys come walking behind him. "That's JJ and John B" said Kie pointing and the blonde and brunette. "Hawaii nice!" said John B "What's it like?" He asks while smiling at me. "It's amazing, the people, food, atmosphere, and the waves they are always perfect." I say remembering my life back at Hawaii. As I sit back down and talk to Kie a little more I look at my phone and see that my mom is getting out work soon and need to go home. After a while of getting to know Kie and the boys they tell me that they are gonna have a party later tonight on the beach that they call a Kegger.

Kie's POV
After my shift at The Wreck I call John B and let him know I'm on the way to the chateau to help get ready for the Kegger. When I make it to John B's I get out of my car in go inside where JJ and John B are waiting. "Where's Pope?" I ask as I sit down on the coach. "He is on his way, he was helping his dad at the store" JJ answered. "What did y'all think about Marlee?" I asked. "Shes cool, and she can surf I think she'll fit in" say JJ. "What about you John B, you think she's cute?" I ask him. He looks down and smiles at the ground. "Well I mean what's not to like she is beautiful, kind, smart, funny, & loves to surf" he said while his cheeks turn red.
John B's POV
I feel my checks start to warm up as I talk about Marlee. " Wait, does my boy John B have a crush on the new girl?" says JJ teasing me as he gets up from chair and grabs a beer from the fridge and hands me one. I give him a stern look at tell him to shut up in which he just laughs at me. "Don't listen to him" Kie says from the coach. " I don't know what to do Kie, I know I just met her a few hours ago but I feel like I've known her for a long time. "Don't worry John B. We will help you asking out Marlee" said JJ as Pope walks into the chateau."What are y'all talking about?" asked Pope. "Oh! just how John B has it bad for Marlee" says JJ. "Oh yeah! So are you gonna make your move tonight" asks Pope. "I want to ask her out on a date but I just keep getting nervous around her. "Yeah I can tell, you were babbling every time she asked you a question and got all red when she looked at your direction" Pope finished. "Don't worry John B I'll help you. Besides I think y'all would make a cute couple" said Kie. "Thanks Kie" I replied back smiling at her.
Marlee's POV
I've been home for a couple hours and my mom went straight to bed after she ate dinner. I had told about meeting the pogues and that they invited me to a party on the beach. One thing I forgot to mention is that my mom is originally from here born and raised. She met my dad in college at NYU and fell in love got married had me then moved to Hawaii when my dad got a better job opportunity but then a few years later he cheated on her and left us for one of his clients. She told me about how when she was my age and how her and her friends would thrift Keggers at the Boneyard. She was pogue or she still is actually just has more money but decided to live in the cut. I go to my closet find what I can wear for the party. After I'm down getting ready I grab my phone and text Kie to ask where I should meet them
