Sashi's POV

Hiro and I walked hand in hand to the rooftop during lunch, with him looking over our shoulders at every turn to make sure that no one in the area seemed to pose a threat. I have no idea what's gotten him on edge today, and I'm pretty sure that if we didn't have most of our classes together, he would have demanded to be placed in mine so he can keep an eye on me. It feels good to have someone looking out for me, but I don't want him to be on edge the entire time. He deserves to feel relaxed too.

'Hiro, honey, I appreciate the fact that you want to keep me safe, but isn't having me close to you enough?' I asked as we took our usual seats on one of the rooftop benches, rubbing my thumb over his hand in an attempt to soothe him. 'No one would even think of coming near me when I have you by my side, and I'm not planning on leaving anytime soon either. Is there any chance you can relax for a moment and let us enjoy our lunch together?'

Hiro let out a sigh and nodded his head, smiling as he gave me a kiss on the cheek.

'Sorry, tenshi. I'm just really worried that something bad is going to happen to you. I want to protect you, that's all.'

'I know, but nothing is going to happen. Not only am I safe with you, but there are also many students up here today, so if someone does try something, there'll be tons of witnesses, and they'll get caught immediately. I made another bento box for you, and I want you to be able to enjoy it in peace,' I said, getting his lunch out of my bag and handing it to him. 'Just like how you want to protect me, I want you to relax and enjoy the food I made you.'

'Thank you, kanmi. I'll try my best to relax while eating,' he said with a small smile, and I got my own bento box out. Hiro was already digging into his lunch when I was about to take my first bite, but hearing two pairs of footsteps approaching stopped me in my tracks. I looked up from my bento to see a certain purple-haired male coming our way, smiling so brightly his cheeks must have hurt. He was holding a slightly annoying ginger's hand, and I quickly mimicked his expression. I also noticed that he wasn't wearing any of the things I had given him to help woo Osana, which gave me hope that she started liking him because of more than just his appearance.

'Sashi, we've been looking for you everywhere!' Riku exclaimed, and Hiro's head immediately shot up at his words. He visibly relaxed upon seeing the new couple, and I intertwined our free hands just to put him more at ease. I wonder what I can do to make him stop worrying so much about my safety. 'I told Osana how you helped me pluck up the courage to ask her out, and we both just want to say thank you. Without you, we wouldn't have gone on that date, and we never would have become a couple.'

'And I never would have realised what a great guy Riku is,' Osana said, planting a kiss on the purple-eyed boy's cheek. 'I might even have continued having feelings for Taro, despite the fact that he's made it very clear that we're nothing more than friends. I do think that he has a girlfriend now, though, so I might have lost my feelings for him regardless, but now I don't have anything to feel jealous about. He's not my type anyway.'

'I'm glad I could help,' I said, waving goodbye to the happy couple as they continued on their way. Hiro wrapped his arm around me and pulled me closer to him, and I placed my head on his shoulder.

'You are amazing when it comes to helping people, tenshi,' he said, lovingly running his fingers through my hair. 'But, if you keep being everyone else's guardian angel like that, I might just get jealous.'

'In that case, I better pay extra attention to you, huh?'

'Yep, that's exactly right,' he said with a smirk, taking my chin between his thumb and forefinger before leaning in and connecting our lips. It wasn't a very long kiss, considering that we were still in school, but it was sweet nonetheless.
