"Ok, Ben, if I have 5 apples in this basket and 2 apples in this basket, how many apples do I have all together?" I asked while helping Ben with his math.
Today was a really quiet day. Kayden, Henry, and Leo all went out shopping and left Cam and I to babysit. Well, we offered to babysit since shopping for barbecue stuff was boring and they all acted like middle aged dads about it.
"7 apples!" Ben exclaimed, smiling when I nodded in agreement.
"Can you write 7 down here?" I handed him the pencil after he nodded and smiled as he finished the last of his work.
"Can I go play with Preston now?" He whined for the hundredth time since we started.
"Go ahead, make sure you're sharing." I told him before he ran off and I settled back into the couch with Cam and Julie.
"So back to our conversation before," Cam started. "How's yours?"
"Still there. Did yours scar really bad?" I asked while lightly touching my scar over my shirt.
"Ya, it was infected after I ran away."
"Did it get better?"
"Mhm, Henry kinda saved me." He smiled as he spoke of his boyfriend, looking down to Julie before back up to me. "I was hiding behind a building when he found me. He took me back to his office and helped me clean up and gave me some food. After he realized I didn't have any family he let me stay with him to get better. I think it was only meant to be temporary but he never once tried to ask me to leave."
"That's really sweet. You guys seem really good for each other." I commented, Cam smiling and nodding.
"I really want to be with him forever. I know he seems mean sometimes but he's really not, he's the sweetest person I know. I uh, I wanted to ask you something and you need to tell me the truth."
I gave a small nod and turned to face Cam completely. This seemed important and I wanted to give him my full attention.
"I know Henry's only had one serious relationship before me and it really hurt him, and it makes him scared to take big steps. I'm serious when I say I want to spend the rest of my life with him and I want to know if it's a good idea- well I want you to tell me what you think- be honest and tell me if I'm being stupid-"
"Cam, what is it?" I laughed, nudging his leg with my foot.
"I want to ask Henry to marry me."
"Holy shit! Really? That's awesome!" I exclaimed, only before realizing the secret I'm supposed to be holding. "I think that's a great idea and there's no doubt that he'd say yes."
"Really?" He asked me, smiling and playing with his hands.
Well considering I've seen the ring he wants to propose to you with...
"Of course! That's so amazing, Cam!" I smiled before hugging him. "Do you have a ring in mind?"
"I kinda sorta already bought one." He looked down sheepishly before taking it out of his bag. The box was black velvet with red satin on the inside, a really pretty ring sitting inside it. The ring was silver with diamonds wrapping around it, and something engraved on the inside.
"What's it say?" I asked as he took it out to show me.
"It's says, um... "Thank you for loving me". I know it's kinda dumb-"
"Hush, it's not dumb." I glared, seeing him smile lightly. "That's really cute, Cam. He's going to love it."
"I hope so." He sighed before putting the ring away. "What about you and Kayden? How have you guys been?"
