"Good afternoon, Beautiful Boy." I whispered against the side of his head, placing a few little kisses on his pink cheeks and forehead.
"Fuck off." A laugh fell from my lips as I brushed his hair off his hot face, looking straight at his closed eyes.
"Sassy this morning, aren't we?" I teased, getting a swat to the arm before he coughed and groaned. His coughing seemed to piss him off even more as he groaned in frustration and punched his pillow, flopping onto his stomach again and sobbing into the bedsheets.
I felt really bad. Jayden woke up yesterday with a really bad headache and cough and it's only gotten worse. Now his stomach hurt, he couldn't move without being in pain, and any light gave him massive migraines, though those had gotten a bit better by last night.
"Jay, how are you feeling?" I asked softly, laying back down and not being able to resist a smile when he crawled into my arms and hid under the blanket again.
"Cold."
"How are you cold? You're burning up." I felt his head again just to check, but he was still burning hot.
"I'm sick. I'm not supposed to feel good or normal." He snapped, looking up and glaring at me. He'd been like this all of yesterday and this morning; irritable and cranky. I didn't blame him, I was trying my best to help him and not upset him any more.
"You seem grumpy, Jay. Do you need me to leave for a bit so you can relax? I'll do whatever you need me to do." I stroked his hair as he finally looked back up at me, tears in his eyes as he cried again. "What's wrong? Are you just really tired?" I asked softly.
"N-No one's ever been so nice to m-e." He sobbed between hiccups.
"No one's ever taken care of you while you're sick?" He couldn't be serious. Someone would have had to have helped him when not feeling well.
"We-Well, my Mom used to before she... before she died. But that was a long time ago and other people did bad stuff when I was sick."
"Aw, Jay..." I sighed, pulling him into me and kissing his burning head. "I'm sorry, Baby. You don't have to say anymore if you don't want to." I could hear him sniffing and snapping his fingers quietly, two things I picked up on him doing when he was really stressed or anxious.
"Thank you for helping me." He whispered, clinging to my side and leaving little kisses on my chest. He always kissed the same spots on my chest, right where the biggest scar was and over the next two most prominent ones. He said it was because he was making them feel better and I really didn't have the heart to argue that.
"Of course. Are you tired still or do you want something to eat? I think there's chicken noodle soup downstairs if that's what you'd like."
"Can I have crackers with it? A-And maybe a popsicle?" His hoarse voice was too adorable as he looked up with his big doe eyes, awaiting my answer even though he already knew it.
"Sure. Let's go down." I chuckled, standing up and waiting for him to follow. My light smile turned to a frown when I realized how much he was struggling to get up, wincing anytime he had to move. "Hold on, I'll carry you." I picked him up as gently as I could, letting him hug my shoulders as he clung to me like a koala.
No one was home once again; James at work, Mom and Ben at the gym, not even Josh was here to mooch off us for food since he couldn't just buy his own for his apartment. I wasn't complaining about the quiet though, especially because it meant I got to hold my Boyfriend and not act like I didn't like him. I told Jayden I didn't like my family knowing about who I was dating because they were annoying, but in reality, none of them knew I was bisexual and I wasn't quite ready to tell them yet.
