My alarm went off in a high pitch shriek. I moaned, hand flapping uselessly to turn it off. My hand waved through the air, calling with only my bed sheets as I tried to gain my thoughts.

Eyes blinked the bleakness of sleep from them as I gathered my bearings. I liked my head off my warm pillow, head still warm and cotton like from sleep. The room was blurry, but that wasn't a surprise. I just had to find my glasses so I could find out where that insufferable noise was coming from.

I yawned as reached to the table side to grab the small framed glass. The black steel frame found its place on the bridge of my nose as I slide them on. Finally, the world was clear and up for grabs. My wings fluttered slightly, causing the lilac covers to fall off my warm body.

I groaned in grief, knowing that there was little to no chance left to go back to the warmth of slumber until I got home. The shrieks were still going so I choosed to turn my grumpy anger towards the noise instead. And there it stood, mocking me in an undesirable way on the other side of my room. Ignoring the fact that I put it over there to force myself to wake up and not fall back asleep, I got up and mumbled empty threats to it as I made my way over.

After cursing it to only charge when the charger for it was at a certain angle, I pressed the sleek black button on top of its head to silence it. As soon as it quited I let out a sigh of relief. My wings drooped in shared relief, black feathers ruffling each other. I shot a glance towards the covered window, the navel drapes where pulled flushed to each other, blocking the sun out.

I moved towards them and swung them open, blinking as harsh light entered my room. It revealed my mess of a room. Blankets, dirty clothes and books littered the floor. My desk where my school books laid was a mess of paper, the oak wood only being visible by a sliver the wasn't blocked out from papers.

The dark floor boards where covered in over 5 different colored rugs, and what the rugs didn't cover, the randomly thrown hoodies did. But that was fine. What wasn't fine was to see that one of my favorite Percy Jackson book, the one I was reading up until I fell asleep last night, was laying face down on the floor, pages spread out and even wrinkled.

I let out a shallow gap and rushed towards it immediately. I pick it up, grimacing at the way some of the pages where bent. My hands smoothed down the worst of the wrinkled pages but the seam of where it was bent was still clear. I closed the books hard cover, "Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters", putting it on one of the strewed out papers before setting one of my heavier text books on it in hopes of the pressure straightening out the folds.

Soon another alarm went off, this time it was to a more melodic beat of harps. Ah yes, my second alarm to remind me to get my stuff together and head out. My feet padded on the varying purple rugs as I got to my closet. I pulled out my school uniform. It was my last year in High School. I was officially a senior, 18 year of age and all.

I was excited for this year, I was determined to make it my best year yet! Maybe make some friends finally, or go and join one of the many clubs offered by the school. I slid on the plain white button up shirt, quickly sliding on the black dress pants. Sliding on the grayish blue dress coat that went with the uniform, I turned to look at the mirror that was hanging on the back of my closet door.

Onyx eyes stared back at me, light brown hair that tended to puff up when I aired dried it stared back at me. My wings laid comfortably at my sides already used to the routine like the rest of my body. I grabbed the brush and hair gell and started the routine of fighting my hair to stay closer to my scalp rather than the sky.

After a few minutes of both wins and loses, I finally was able to wrangle it into some form of semblance. I grinned, rushing to my back pack that laid on the back of my desk chair all packed and ready to go. The only thing not ready to go yet was me. I threw my door open, catching it before it could collide with the wall, and started jogging down the hall with my back pack slung over my shoulder.

I skidded for a few moments, using my hands for leverage against the wall to propel myself to the right. Right towards the kitchen. My family was just my two brothers Hayden and Jayden, and my father. While we all lived in this house, we were almost allways never in the house at the same time, and if we were then we would be in separate parts of the house.

That being said there was only one other person in this house at this time. Our maid, Mrs. Cherry. Mrs. Cherry was the best, she made breakfast, packed us lunches, dinners, and even snuck me cookies! So when I turned the corner to see familiar long blonde hair, grey eyes and a warm smile, I returned it with my own grin.

"Good morning Mrs. Cherry!" I greeted, barely slowing down as I ran towards the dinning table where a plate of breakfast laid warm and ready.

"Good morning Justin. Chipper and hyper as ever, I see." She smiled back, eyes warm as a mother would look at her child.

I nodded, scaring down my eggs at a ferocious rate. I wanted to wait and savor them, I really did, but I was on a deadline. Soon my plate was cleared and I was bolting upwards the run towards the guest bathroom to brush my teeth. Before I could however, Mrs. Cherry stopped me to hand me a paper bag with my packed lunch.

"Try not to get in trouble too much today. I doubt that Master Daugh would be pleased to hear you were reading during another one of you school lessons." Mrs. Cherry smiled knowingly.

I let out a quick laugh, smile gracing my face as I took the lunch and tucked it into my bag. I grinned at her once more.

"Thank you for the lunch. I'll try today, but no promises." I grinned even more, smile turning checky.

I ran out as Mrs. Cherry's laughter echoed down the almost too empty hallways.

Hello, I am back! I have rebooted this book, gutted it and remade it in to something I like a lot better. I felt the story was too rushed, too dark and not enough thought went behind each chapter to make it run smoothly. That ends today! By the time you read this I will be re-writing and will be posting each chapter once a week till finished. Thank you for your support and patience. - The author
