Chapter 26

The next day

Elodie's POV:

"Thank you for driving him here" I said to Devon when she arrived at my apartment and I took Elio in my arms.

"He was missing his mom too" she said giving me a warm smile.

"So tell me what's going on" she said and we went to sit on the couch.

"Nothing, I told him what happened" I said.

"Did you tell him about Elio too?" She asked me.

"No" I simply replied and brushed the hair away from Elio's face while he was sucking on my boob.

"Are you going to?" Devon asked me.

"I don't know, we're going back to Florence after all this anyway, so he wouldn't be in his life anyway" I said and looked at Devon who was listening to every word very carefully.

"Wouldn't you want him to know?" She continued to ask me.

"Maybe for Elio's sake yes but other than that no" I replied and looked at my beautiful baby who was growing up so fast.

"Well I have to leave for Germany in two days so I'm going back to Venice today" Devon said and I nodded as Elio stopped feeding in my boob and went to run over to his toys.

"Are you going to be okay here with Elio and everything else going on?" She asked me.

"Yeah, I'll ask Lori for help if I need it" I said and Devon nodded.

"I really think you should tell him" Devon then spoke up about it again.

"If I was Elio I would want to know my dad" she then said and looked at me.

"Maybe you're right" I said and we both looked at Elio as he played with his cars on the carpet.

"You know I am" she said and I looked at her.

"How do I tell him?" I said.

"Hey, I had your son while I was married to another dude and never told you and he's one and a half now" I said sarcastically and Devon only rolled her eyes at me.

"Just tell him when it feels right to you" she said.

I smiled at her and she returned the smile. We spent some time together and all went out to get some lunch before Devon headed back to Venice and before I had to go meet with Renzo to give him some new information that I have.

We said goodbye to Devon and then I asked Lori to come over and watch Elio while I go to the meeting with Renzo.

"Thank you for watching him Lori" I said as I was getting ready to leave.

"Of course" she said and was holding Elio in her arms as I was about to leave.

"I'll be back in a couple of hours" I said and Lori nodded before I shut the doors locking it for them and went to my car.

I drove to Renzo's house this time as we had agreed to meet there. I walked inside and Stephanie greeted me.

"Hey" she said nicely.
