POV: Celine
Walking back I can't seem to get a grasp of my own feelings. He's nice, but why would I fall for him that easily. I should focus my actual goal in life.
To find the son of my Dad's friend.
But were could I start? I knew he lived in New york. But how could I know the fact he is- well- Him??
-POV end-
Celine decided to walk by the store again, to get a few snacks for her unpacking journey. She got some chips and a bottle of soda and bought flowers. It was Cornflowers, it was a beautiful type and she never realised it. She subcontiously bought the flowers and head to her apartment.
It wasnt like Jay's in any way. He's apartment has doors leading to rooms. More like the ones in a hotel.
On the other hand, Celine has an loft. The only door was the main door and the door to the bathroom. Which is technically connected to the walk in closet. It's an odd layout but it was what drew her to this apartment. There was a small platform above the kitchen. The only way to head up to it is a spiral staircase. It wasn't that grand but she wanted to make it feel like home.
Celine took the rest of the afternoon to unpack and re-arrange everything. Yet the apartment still looked empty. It honestly looked more like a forest that empty.
She needs more furniture. She doesn't even have a table nor a couch!
But it was very late at night. No stores (especiall IKEA) could be accepting guests at 12 AM. Celine gave up and went up to her frameless bed and slept.
•••
Jay on the other hand can't rest. Not smoking feels like he is missing something from his daily routine. But he promised. He promised everyone. His dad, the rehab leader, the doctors, the therapists, and the one friend he had. Celine.
He glances at the pack he bpught recently out of habit. He was mad. He was at himself. Why did he decide to start in the first place?
He thought it was cool, yeah. But deep down? Why? Was it go distract hinself from reality? Reality of his mother?
He scoffs just thinking about her. How could she just dump his dad. Throw her perfect life away. For money? A small amount of 10 thousand has left her running away with her new beloved.
Deep down. Jay wanted her, to get what she deserved. Karma. Is all he ever asked for her. He doesnt care if he would get hurt in the process. He cared more of his dad rather than himself.
After his 'Mom' left his Dad died in the inside. He didn't smoke but he was depressed. He drank. To the point some nights the young boy could hear his own dad weep.
The only reason why he wanted to leave new york is for his dad's own good. Without him there, he can easily provide food on his plate. And when the boy finally settled in, then he would get a job. And send half of the profit to his dad.
He wanted to go to rehab because of his father. He wanted to still live. For him and him only.
Celine. She helped him. She suceeded where his 'friends' failed. All what his said friends did is toss him around.
"Your dying anyways, why cant I just kill you right now?"
Those words angered him. It pissed him off. Out of rage he stood up from his bed taking the pack of cigarettes and he got out on his balcony.
Just as he raise the hand with the pack of cigarettes. He hesitated. He's hands shaked.
He can't
But he should.
Not a moment to waste he threw the pack. Not thinking about if it would hit someone or something. He threw it and sat down.
Tears start to form in his eyes. It's frustrating! He rests his back on the wall sitting on the floor of his balcony. With subtle tears.
"I'm just Tired. I'm too tired..."
he muttered. He stood up and walked back to his bedroom collapsing on his bed.He admitted, his life is no where to perfect. Its not okay either. If anyone asked if he was okay. He'll disagree.
Celine. She helped him. Though he denied it at first. But, she did. She slowly changed him. It was only a short while of them knowing each other. But that moment earlier. It was kind, it was wholesome.
Sitting on the couch watching a romantic movie. They werent really sitting close together. But the two would get nervous when their arms would colide. It was the first time in his life, he ever felt happy voluntarily.
The thought of the moment. Well most likely the thought of Her. Made him calmer. He properly layed down on his bed and finally shut his eyes. After a tiring day, he felt at peace.
Just because of the thought of her.
His Only friend.
