Is she, or is she not?
He was supposed to be downstairs,giving the new residents the same old speech he had been giving them for the past years. Instead here he was, pacing up and down in his lavish office. He generally isn't one to feel so restless and neglect his duties as the chief of the hospital and oddly enough he wants to go downstairs, to the residents, but alas he can't.
Something has been making the tiny part of The Hollow he has inside him feel restless but he couldn't understand what and most importantly why today ,after all these years? A minute later, as Elijah sat down , he still just couldn't understand the sudden spark of bloodlust in him, something he hasn't faced for centuries.
Despite not being one to generally neglect his duties, the noble vampire decided to stick to paper works just for today as he merely spared a glance towards the door with his glasses perched low on his nose when his eldest brother walked in.
Finn walked into his brother's office which was smelling awfully yet pleasantly to his vampire side of blood bags which was poorly concealed in the lower drawer of the desk." You called?" "Ah yes brother, I am afraid I am unable to go down to greet the new residents but it would be very much helpful if you go in my stead".
"Is it because of the bloodlust?" Elijah looked at Finn in surprise which changed into an expression of realisation,"You too?" "I am afraid yes brother, I too have been feeling quite restless since this morning yet I fail to understand why."
Finn looked towards his younger brother whom he still had somewhat of an animosity with but not as much as with Klaus and Kol. At moments like these he wishes he were with his two sisters or even little Henrik who is not as little anymore and was currently going through an emo phase as Niklaus phrased it.
But he knew even his all knowing brother was just as perplexed as himself. Finn had no wish to go down in the little moment of peace he got in between surgeries but something beckoned him closer to hall where the residents where in , and he intended to find out what.

Alyssa stood in between several other residents as the doctor in charge or Dr.Johnson spoke with a constant yet cheerful tone," I am afraid the chief is unable to come down due to some work but no worries about that I'm sure you all will get plenty of opportunities to meet him".
Hearing this there were several groans and some people who had the hopes to meet the renowned chief including Alyssa were visibly deflated. "Now don't get all pouty faced in front of me, in his stead we will be joined Dr.Mikaelson who as we all know is the head of the neurosurgery department and also one of the the founders. "Ah! there he is".
He leaned in as if sharing a secret with us "Just a little caution he isn't much of talker and kind of a loner so you all don't wanna swarm him with questions that I know everyone here wants to ask based on your googly eyes."
As he said that, everyone looked towards the said man, who was leaning on the railing just the floor above, watching everyone in a disinterested yet watchful manner. For some reason Alyssa was unable to look away from the undeniably gorgeous specimen of a man yet she had to in order to listen to what the doctor in front them was saying. As Alyssa kept on listening, she felt eyes on her and she knew to whom they belong to but didn't dare look at him, afraid she might not be able to look away again.

Finn couldn't tear his eyes away from her. He was feeling even more restless than ever,his hand grasping the metal railing so tightly that it would sure enough leave a dent. He was itching to do something, someone to hold or listen to as she asked a question or two here and there. He did have a suspicion but that was quite impossible yet nothing could justify his behaviour, his inner animal screaming to him about the obvious yet the rational part of him was in denial.
Soulmates were something sacred yet it was as rare as it could be. Due to lack of soulmates , it was written of as myth but after being alive for a thousand years he knew it most likely wasn't. He has seen very few pairs who were supposedly soulmates and even though he doesn't have much of a belief in them he has seen the mere way they glance at each other is far different from anyone else.
Such raw affection,longing and love through a single passing glance left him astonished then as he wished to have something similar with his then former lover yet knew that they would be nothing compared to them and right now he feels the same level of astonishment and wonder as he looked at her.
He watched as she went here and there to find a mentor but unfortunately every other doctor were already occupied or had already found a mentee. He knew that nothing would be achieved if he kept on staring at her so he immediately came down and walked towards the doctor while the others looked surprised and joyful to see him including her.
He looked at her just once knowing he might be mesmerised again if he looked any longer as he asked for the paper slip to sign his name besides the girl, Alyssa Parker as he read, as her mentor leaving the doctor and others including his girl shell shocked as he now stood in front of her, " I look forward to guiding you Ms. Parker, hope you don't disappoint me".
As his pager beeped, announcing the next surgery, he gave her a nod which she returned albeit still with a shocked expression and when he walked away he heard the shout of thanks behind him which made his lips tug upwards despite his heart feeling heavier as he walked farther and farther away from her but now he was determined to keep an eye on her to get to the bottom of this entire situation.
He pondered whether he should ask Elijah or not but decided it would be best not to. He wanted to keep her all to himself as he had a feeling that it might not remain that way for much longer especially if two of his suspicions are true.
