She stood in front of her home with her body buzzing with excitement yet a vast amount of nervousness filled her. For a moment she contemplated whether it was the right decision or not . Was it really worth all those years which she spent studying instead of partying like her friends? When she could have just chosen another dream with her family's capability to afford it which therefore led her to live in a daily rush hour with everyone striving to be the best?
She clutched the piece of paper tightly which oddly felt quite heavy in her hands and with her backpack hung over her shoulder as she managed to supress the uncertainity which was all of a sudden rising like bile in her throat. She after a few tries finally entered her home courtesy of her shaking hands which managed to poke the key anywhere but the keyhole.
There they were, her parents , both of them were watching the television in the living room as they now turned around to face their daughter both of their eyes filled with uncertainity similar to that of her own yet the expectations were clearly visible.
She took a deep breath in as she looked at both of her parent with the biggest smile she could muster with the paper in her hands clearly up for them to see.
"I got in. I am now a resident."
And all of a sudden, as her parents embraced her and just one glimpse of the sheer happiness and proud look on their face made every moment worth it.
