"I don't get why you want to do homework on a Saturday." Liam grumbled, looking over my shoulder as I tried to work on some of my psychology assignment...which was a bit difficult when I didn't have any of my psychology books!
"Because I want to get it over and done with." I explained, trying to google information on happiness but as usual the damn internet was slow as fuck.
"I don't get why anyone bothers trying." Sam piped up as I looked up at him. "It's obvious that Ms Malloye hates students."
"She's a bigot." Ben agreed, nodding. "Narrow-minded, prejudiced....am I missing anything here?"
"Strict." Sam added, "Vindictive, arrogant and narcissistic as well."
"She liked Lola." I muttered, remembering the blonde-haired and power-hungry cheerleader who moved schools two years ago and thought that she was the most beautiful, most talented person to ever walk on the face of the Earth.
"Ugh, that hoe." Abby made a beeline for the spare armchair, a contempt expression on her face as her nose wrinkled in disgust, amber eyes bright with barely concealed hatred. "Why are we talking about that bitch?"
"They're talking about the psychology teacher." Liam grumbled, grabbing on to my arm and pulling me to my feet along with him, sending my notebook and pencil tumbling to the ground. He started to pull me towards the stairs, pausing to look at the others. "Piss off.""Are you seriously giving me the silent treatment?" Liam asked annoyed, staring down at me from where I laid on his bed, hovering over me with his hands splayed on either side of my head.
"I'm thinking about school." I promised, trying hard to think about homework and painting and when I was next going to go out on my paddleboard.....anything but the position I was in with Liam. "I want to get good grades in my classes."
"School's only been back for a week unofficially and you're worried about that?" He was right, no one really counted the first week of school which was roughly two weeks ago but still.
"It's senior year." I argued, not surprised that he didn't seem worried about school or his grades. In all the time I've known him, I've never once seen Liam pay attention in class or even open a workbook and yet he still got good grades.
"And you're going to crash and burn in a month because you're fucking stressed out about getting straight As in all your classes."
I stared at him. I wasn't going to stress myself out over grades.
Liam rolled off me, lying on his side, looking at me with his fingers tangled in my hair. "How many classes are you taking this year?" Liam asked as I tilted my head to look at him. Didn't he already know? I mean, nearly all my classes had someone in to make sure no one attempted to talk to me.
"English, Psychology, History and Social Studies, French, Gym and Chemistry." I recited, having already memorized my school timetable despite only being back at school for a week. History and English were probably my favourite subjects followed by French and Gym, Chemistry and Psychology were the ones I narrowly passed last year, and I was taking them because I couldn't take only four subjects.
"I thought you dropped Chemistry and Gym?" Liam wondered as I stared at him in confusion....he thought what?
"I like Gym." I shrugged. "I'm just not as good at Chem as I want to be."
"Then drop it." Liam sat up, looking at his phone before he looked back at me and slid off the bed, walking towards the door of his bedroom, phone against his ear.
