She started attacking me with her specialty, which is needles and thread, and all I can say is that, she is pretty weak.
She continue throwing me her needles with threads in which she thought she fully concealed it and that I cannot see it. I let her do her things and just watches her moves that seemed to be even worse than an amateur.
This is my first battle and this is what I get? A roached naively marching towards her death without even being able to realize it?
Although the rules have forbidden the participants from killing one another, I'm an exemption because I'm the villain. But well, even if I really did think of killing this naive heroine, there's a lot of people who'd stop me here for sure, I'm not just sure if they can though.
But I am slightly confused by the current situation. The fight is going exactly as in the novel but if this was her skills, her skills that was considered top notch and deadly, I just wonder how they even think it is deadly and isn't she a holy priestess? Then why was her weapons like this? Because a lot wanted the female lead badass theme that it didn't even fit to her chosen title so just not to be called a damsel in distress?
And the Demon Patron of the novel even think that this was slightly hard for him? What is going on? Fake point of view from the author to make the heroine look strong?
I was hella confused and just really wonder how she was also chosen by the high priest of the Highest Divine Clan. It was said that she did good in her battle with the villain enough to let the high priest praise and take her as a disciple even though she lost but man-- I have no say.
My thoughts are, how did it happen? Everyone could clearly tell that she was no match for me.
And although I've said I would not avoid their attacks, anyone could easily guess what I'm planning to do or worse, even take it to something far more different than my goal.
It can also be said that anyone could easily see that I am trying to do something that the Demon Patron would not usually do if I just let myself be attacked by these motionless needles and threads.
I have no plan on letting my time be wasted in this heroine who seems to be a little bit different described from the novel.
I waited until I find the right timing to attack her.
I fasten my pace and was about to cut her neck when two people interrupted our fight and held both of my arms tightly. One in my right and one in my left while glaring at me intensely.
Yup. This is also part of the novel. A lot of readers were already feeling a butterflies in their stomach and can't stop feeling of the inexplicable joy they felt because of the early romance showdown. Usually there would be an arc first for the mc to develop a feelings for the heroine and ignoring her first or acting cold towards her, but this novel's mc is quite the exact opposite of that kind of mc. He isn't exactly in-love with the heroine first but as the time goes by with only few adventures, he realized it but confessed rather early. The heroine didn't reject as she was already in-love with the mc since childhood and is just waiting for the other one to confess since she was too afraid to confess to the mc because the mc's father has already introduced a lot of girls to be fitted for the mc.
Although their situation was like that, in the end no one objected and everyone is happy.
The novel is a romance-action genre and it attracted a lot of readers, mostly females, and since the author was already famous before he or she made this, he/she wouldn't naturally lose views even if it didn't get popular enough to get new readers.
"I remember there were rules saying that killing is forbidden." The mc coldly said to me with deadly intent.
"Well, rules does not apply to me. And even if rules don't apply to me, do you have any proof that I will kill her for you to interrupt our fight?" I retorted back at him and also gave him a cold glare that made him a but surprised and even trembled a little bit.
This was the villain's first interaction with the protagonists.
"And you little dust, don't touch me." I said to the second male lead who was in my left side.
He was about to fight me back when he was interrupted by the emcee.
"Participant Dale and Participant Ivory will receive the first warning of the final selection. Participant Serina will be disqualified and considered as defeated for the interruption of the two other participants that was not part of the fight."
This was the bad side of the rules to the main characters and on the other hand, the good side for the villain.
A smirked formed on my lips that left the crowd agitated and the two bit their lips, while the naive girl looks at me with terror. Hah. Maybe she sensed my killing intent?
Anyway, it's all part of the novel. Nothing has changed. A good start for someone like me.
