The Edenville Press
Unidentified boy found unconscious in small-town alley.Yesterday morning, there was a shock felt for miles. The ground shook with an unseen impact. When questioned, the leaders of The Nation Earthquake Information Center said there was no seismic activity recorded in or around Edenville. Residents are sure they felt the shake, and it is a hot topic on the local news stations. Neighboring towns were not affected and did not report anything unusual.
Around the same time, a young boy (Approximate age: 14) was discovered bloody and bruised in an alleyway on Elliot Steele Lane. The officer that found him declined to comment, other than the fact that the boy was breathing. When our reporting team went to the alley where the boy was found, the asphalt was severely cracked and there was blood on the corner of a a nearby dumpster. Pictures have been passed around but no one seems to recognize the boy.
He was rushed to St. Allen Memorial Hospital by ambulance. A doctor was willing and commented on the boy's condition:
"He sustained significant bruising, a concussion, but no internal damage. We have assumed that he hit his head on something sharp, such as the corner of the dumpster, but won't know for certain until he wakes up."
The same doctor would not say if the child was connected to the ground shaking, and would go on to say that the boy was in stable condition. He had only woken up once, briefly, and had not been able to answer any questions asked. The doctor said that it could be memory loss, but it was more likely caused by shock.
He could not say who his parents were, his age or where he was from. The staff have taken to calling him Elliot Steele, after the street he was found on, until they learn his real name. If no one if found, the boy will be taken into state custody and be place with a foster family until more is discovered.
Many people we spoke with were of the opinion that the boy had something to do with the ground shaking events. Some thought the boy had jumped from the building next to the dumpster, Duncan And Sons, while others thought he had been involved in something illegal. Few suggested that it was simply a coincidence.
The police continue their search for the boy's parents, while the doctors continue their search for the boy's memories. If you have any information, please contact your local police station.
