chapter 8

I was telling him "a few years ago...when some people found out about my powers....."

y/n started but just then sakura and ino came running behind sasuke. Sasuke sighed in a frustrated manner and asked me to "hold up". 

it had been about 10 minutes since Sasuke was trying to make both of them stop fighting and go away but he was getting nowhere so y/n ran from there. she smacked herself thinking how dumb she was to be telling her secret that cost her parent's life to a boy she barely knew about

-time skip-

ino and sakura finally went home because their parents were calling them, leaving Sasuke. he had sensed y/n go but still looked around for her for a while.

"damnit" he cursed under his breath.

giving up, he went home to think about the moment y/n was about to tell him her past life and how for the first time in a long while, he was actually a bit enthusiastic and interested to know a person.

-the next day-

(3rd person pov)

it was time for team 7's first mission. Sasuke, Sakura, y/n, and naruto reached the Rendez-Vous spot right on time, and yet again Kakashi was nowhere to be seen. the 4 of them kept waiting until after an hour when he showed up. Before anyone could say anything he said '' Before you say anything, I wanna tell you that I'm late only cuz I was helping around the village".Everyone was too annoyed and tired to oppose or say anything so they just asked him what the assignment is. As Kakashi started telling them about their assigned mission everyone was beyond excited but by the time he finished everyone was annoyed once again. their first mission was to find a fat woman's lost cat. They were immensely disappointed but suck it up and did the mission. After several days of shitty and easy D rank missions, they were sick of it. They went straight to the Hokage to ask for a better mission.

They had almost no hope but the Hokage actually gave them a C rank mission. It was to escort an old builder back to his village. Naruto Sakura Sasuke and y/n assembled in the Hokage room along with the builder. The man made some comments about having kids as an escort and Naruto also roasted him but the man had to comply because he didn't have enough money. The kids were asked to come to the Aun gate tomorrow morning at 6.00 am. After giving all the details the Hokage dismissed everyone.

I was kinda excited about the mission. After a really long time, I was actually looking forward to something. I immediately went home and packed all the essentials I needed for the trip. It didn't take much time so after preparing everything I went for a walk. As I walked some distance from my apartment I saw Neji. I didn't hate him, he was nice but I wasn't in a mood to socialize so I acted like I didn't see him. When he saw me he immediately walked over to me. I guess talking a bit couldn't hurt, but boy was I wrong. I don't think I have talked this much and this long in a very very very long time. Well, we weren't exactly 'talking', we just made small talk like '' wats your mission'' and ''hows your team'' etc. but we still kept walking beside each other until we both realized it was getting late and headed back home. NGL it was kinda cool. I felt normal talking to him. I think we can be good friends but I don't think I trust him, I don't think I trust anyone after that incident.

Neji offered to drop me home and I just went along with it. When we reached outside my apartment and said goodbye, I saw a person staring. I sensed it was Sasuke. After Neji left he came up to me and asked me with a straight face- "what were you doing with him?"                    "It's not much of your business," I said and went inside my apartment.

Why did he ask me that? why does he even care? what does he want to do? does he have a problem with Neji? UGHH I'm probably overthinking this. Sasuke is actually quite nice. For a first, he took care of me when I passed out. and he's the only other sensible person on our team besides me. 

HUH, why am I thinking all this?  this isn't like me. What's happening to me? I never used to give a shit what other people do or think. Talking with Neji, thinking about Sasuke. NO! I can't let anyone come close to me. I can't hurt or risk hurting another friend. I refreshed my mind and went to sleep. I had to wake up early anyway.
