CHAPTER FIVE────𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗜𝗧 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗕𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗡
❝ she asked herself, when will he see that he's beautiful too? ❞
"KURAYAMI HIKARI TO TRAVEL WEST ON A MISSION ACCOMPANIED BY YORIICHI TSUGIKUNI!"
Those were the words shrilled out by Asahi, Hikari's crow. At the crack of dawn, the crow did not miss the opportunity to make its owner grumble.
"Alright, alright I got it Asahi. No need to leave me deaf." Hikari groaned, and then she shot up from her bed.
"Did you say Yoriichi?!"
"Shall I repeat it again? KURAYAMI HIKARI TO TRAVEL WEST ON A MISSION! ACCOMPANIED BY—"
Hikari silenced the crow mid sentence by placing her fingertips on her beak, closing it before she could continue her shrill shrieks. She glared at the crow, perturbed by her obvious attempts to annoy her.
"I've understood you perfectly. Allow me to prepare myself, Asahi. I mustn't dawdle any longer if Yoriichi is to be my company for this mission," Hikari shooed away Asahi, the crow flying away from Hikari's room with a shrill chuckle.
"Don't be too late, Hikari~ Kekekeke!"
The woman scoffed and began to perform her morning routine, readying herself for her next mission as a Demon Slayer. Yet her heartbeat escalated; this mission would be different. All because her company would be with him. Yoriichi ... the man that has captured her heart.
She would be lying to herself if she said she wasn't both nervous yet pleased. Hikari had been wondering when she'd be granted the opportunity to journey with Yoriichi. The maroon haired man had continued training Hikari the past few weeks; it had become apart of their daily routine, the pair mutually looking forward to spending time with another.
Neither knew it, but training had become the least of their priorities when their eyes were only for one another, yet they were ignorant to one another's feelings.
Hikari has refined her Breath Style, creating a total of six forms under the guidance of Yoriichi. It is her goal to become a Hashira and she is on the path to achieving that goal — so close to her reach, she can feel it.
She decided to name it the Breath of the Rain, or Rain Breathing, inspired by the tranquility of the rain that she holds dear to her heart.
