Delia rested her head on my shoulder. I was a little surprised but, it was sweet.
"How're you finding it here sweetheart? Be honest. i can tell when you're lying."
i felt like she cared, but didn't want to let myself believe that, incase it wasn't true.
"i like it. i like it a lot. i'm still getting my bearings but, it's starting to feel like
home. i just miss my aunt Lizzie. that's all."
Delia sat up and looked at me with a soft smile.
"Name something you both used to do, and we will do it. How does that sound?"
i giggled.
"well.. we used to play truth or dare a lot. almost every time we saw each other we'd have a game."
"Then we will play. You go first." she crossed her legs and leant against the arm of the couch.
"Truth or dare?"
"Dare." Delia answered.
"I dare you to pour us both a shot."
i was risking it here.
"You're 18 right?"
i giggled a little.
"Yes Delia. I'm 18."
"i'm not sure this is a great idea y/n.."
"you don't have to- it's just a dare.."
"You know what? i need to loosen up."
She swayed her hips into the kitchen and poured four shots of vodka. She carried them all in at once, not spilling a drop.
"Here. Bottoms up."
She pulled a face before throwing back both shots, one after the other. God it was hot when she did that.
I did the same.
"your turn." i said.
"Truth or Dare?"
"Truth." i responded smugly, thinking i was avoiding something. I was so wrong.
"Tell me what you think about me. Remember, i can sense a lie from a mile away, sweet girl."
"i.."
i hesitated.
"I think you're beautiful. Your hair sits perfectly on your shoulders. Your eyes are warm and dreamy. You have the kindest soul. You're perfect Delia."
she smiled at me, taking my face in her hand.
"And you're just the same."
oh my god.
