Chapter twenty four.
Katherine's pov:The next few days my back hurt like hell. I could barely move to go to the bathroom without falling over. But it did get better after each day that went by.
I tried eating more so it'd heal quicker like Alexander said and I'd like to believe it worked. Silas had been low on visiting me, but why did I even care. Not like we're going to be married or anything...
A knock on my door woke me up. "Hello." Ezra said sticking his head in the room.
I sat up in the bed, that I could do all on my own now. "What?" I asked slightly annoyed by the fact I'd literally been sitting in one place for several days doing nothing.
"I'm here to deliver a message." He said giving me creepy eyes. "Alexander says since you're getting better there won't be a need to cancel the wedding and you're moving today." Great, just great.
"Also this is a message from Alice, she's away planning the wedding so she couldn't tell you herself." He paused. "Just because you're moving out and we won't be there all the time, it doesn't mean you get to be all over Silas."
I raised a eyebrow in confusion to what he'd just said. "What?"
"It's a tradition in this family that the bride and the groom are being separated for a few days before the wedding, that way they'll be craving each other much more on the honeymoon." He said winking at me.
"Won't be a problem." I said rolling my eyes and taking two pills from my nightstand.
"Well everything is packed for you so just come down when you're ready." He waved goodbye and left me alone.
I didn't even get to have breakfast first. Rude.
I got dressed which took a little longer then usual because of my wound, and walked down the long staircase. It'd been a few days since I'd been up walking so I had to go a little slower.
The front door stood open waiting for me and Alexander too. "Here take two every morning and call me if it gets worse. I'll come to check up on you before the wedding." I nodded and we said our goodbye's.
Silas sat in the car waiting for me as I entered. He started driving as soon as I got into the car. He was in his usual clothing. White dress shirt, sleeves rolled up to his elbows revealing his tattoos.
The silence was killing me and I tried to come up with anything to break it. "Did you find out who shot me?" That was all I could come up with.
"No, whoever it was used a ghost gun. We're still looking, the one who did this will deserve what's coming to them." I wonder what he'd do. Kill, torture? All I wanted to know was who and why they did it.
"How are you?" He asked placing a hand on my thigh. My body stiffened a first, but when he started making small circles with his thumb I melted completely.
"I-I'm fine, it's much better." His hand was so distracting I almost forgot what he'd asked.
We drove for a while longer and he pulled up by a small mansion. It wasn't exactly small, but compared to his old house it was. For just the two of us it was good.
It had big windows in the front, hopefully these ones were bulletproof. A large balcony on the second floor with a hot tub from what I could see and a huge front door entrance.
He parked his car and we walked up the long driveway. "Our room's upstairs to the left. Your bags are already there." He said as we entered the house.
"Our room?" I asked confused and slightly nervous.
