Your conversation with Cross was very interesting to say the least. First off, he wouldn't apologize for anything he had done, saying that it was all necessary for what he was planning in the future, making you a tiny bit scared. To make up for that, he did compliment your new look, only to go back on his chat of 'hating you'. It made you shift on the grass uncomfortably as he started to tell you all the reasons he should just kill you right here right now but he wasn't.

Cross eventually sighed, signaling to you that he was done with accusing you of things you had no control of and looked over to the side of him. You gave him a queer look before looking over too, seeing a group of Frisk's and Nasbstablook's playing with snails, racing them. You sighed and let a smile slip before jumping in your spot slightly as Cross turned forward again, his eyes darkening.

"...I don't want to be apart of this anymore." You were confused, but could only assumed he was talking about that 'game' Ink kept bringing up with you and Error. There was a part of you wanting to reach out and touch Cross's hand, tell him that you were here and that you didn't want to play this game anymore either. But the other part of you wanted to lash out and scream at him, telling him that he had to suck it up and learn to fight for what he thinks is right, he can't just sit around and do nothing after all, he has a connection to the big scary man after all!

"Tough times can only be faced by tough people." A gentle voice spoke from behind the tree, startling you and causing you to jump away from the tree. Cross seemed unfazed by the voice and sent you a harsh glare in return, making you back up to the tree again.

"I've already lost enough to believe in, ma'am." Cross responded with a sincere tone, making you a little offended that he didn't speak to you like that. There was a sigh from behind the tree as you picked at the bright green blades of grass.

"Take a look around you. Most of these people suddenly lost their homes because of what just happened. Thankfully, that curious human and the skeleton in yellow have kindly taken us here." The woman sighed once more, this time more heavier, making you flinch a little and making Cross glare at you again. "If we survived, we can still try harder." Cross's eyes narrowed and he hid half his face in his scarf.

"They told you things about me to change my mind, didn't they?" He asked, a threat laced in his voice. The lady only chuckled once more.

"They just told us the last details we didn't know. After all, we never had the time to get to know each other properly." You shivered at this, how the hell did she know so much about Cross, despite him just arriving here? Does she know stuff about you too? If so, why the hell hasn't she lashed out at you yet-!? Cross then took this as a sign to sit up and try and peak behind the tree, curious on who the hell this person was. You followed suit, looking on the other side of the tree. You spotted some sort of armour before a voice brought you attention back forward.

"queen toriel! you were right!" Strange, the voice seemed like it was speaking in lower case, but you were sure they were yelling. A giant, and I mean giant, dog came up into view, scaring the hell out of you as you refrained from screaming and grabbing the ends of Cross's scarf. He took notice of your fear and stood up in a way to protect you. "the restaurant over there has fresh snail pie! the king ordered one for you-" The voice stopped once they noticed Cross's glare up at the dog. "Wait..." A figure slid down the dog, making you scream a little and stumble to your feet, holding Cross's scarf closer. Cross extended a hand outward to hide you behind him while the skeleton in purple gave Cross a happy smile. "oh man, it's you! long time no see bruh! i barely recognized you in that weird outfit." The skeleton in purple tried to look past Cross to look at you, but Cross simply moved along with their eyes.
