NICO pov
Apparently the gap wasn't big enough for us to hear through clearly, and the doors were too big and heavy for me to move. Leo stuck his head through the door, I almost laughed imagining what he looked like from the other side.
"Guys, the hat is talking, no, guys the hat is singing."
"Singing?" Piper asked, I pushed Leo out of the way and peered into the room, there were small children lined up in front of the hat. The tables were completely silent, and sure enough, the hat was singing. The hat stopped, and Minnie began calling children to sit on a wooden stool.
"Liynch, Amy." 'Amy' went and sat on the stool, Minnie carefully placed the hat over the girl's head.
"HUFFLEPUFF!" I fell back, taken by surprise from how loud the hat could be.
"Rose, Felix."
"RAVENCLAW!"
This went on for a while, with each table cheering when they gained a new member. Leo almost burst out laughing when Minnie called a boy named 'Linen Polyester'.
Once the children were sorted, Dumbledore stood up and began to tell them something about the third floor corridor, and a forest.
"Finally, Hogwarts has decided to open an exchange students program for neighboring schools, so please welcome . . . students from Long Island, New York!
