"Amy!" Shadow cheered, tackling the pink rose into his usual death gripping hug.
"Ha, hey Shadow!" Amy smiled as she rubbed his back soothingly, earning purrs from him.
"I missed you so much! I was so worried about you!" Shadow rambled as he held Amy as tight as possible.
"I was only gone for 5 hours, Shadow." She sighed.
"5 hours too long!"
"I missed you too, but can you please let go now?" Amy struggled to breath against his grip. Shadow rubbed his neck awkwardly as he got off her.
"Where are the others?"
"Sonic's with Tails. Rouge is flirting with Knuckles, and Silver's on a date with Blaze." Shadow smiled lovingly, "Speaking of dates, I have ours planned out perfectly! Don't be late!"
"W-what? I never agreed to a date!" Amy muttered.
"Hmph. Well you're going on one."
"But Shadow, what about everyone else?" Amy questioned, really trying her best to get out of the date.
"I already told you, silly! They're all busy. We'll have time to go on our date! It's at 7:30!" Shadow's eyes glimmered at the thought of them going on a date.
"W-wait, Shadow. I can't. I'm sorry. Eggman is still wandering around Mobius and I need to stop him." Amy grabbed his shoulders in hopes of him understanding.
"Ugh! He's always ruining our dates! What am I going to do when we have kids?! He'll kidnap them too! I'm going with you, Amy!"
Amy digested everything he had just said. Kids?! She gulped.
"Shadow, are you sure? My piko hammer will be enough to stop him." Amy shivered at the thought of Shadow going with her.
"Yep! I can't risk my girlfriend getting hurt! Besides, I can show off to you.." Shadow winked at the annoyed hedgehog.
"Shadow, for the last time, I'm not your girlfriend—"
"Yet."
"Whatever. Let's just go." Amy sighed as she ran off into the woods. Shadow running right beside her the whole way.

Once Amy and Shadow reached where Eggman was, they acted fast. Amy took the job of going for his robots, while Shadow took care of the people being cornered.
But Shadow's world froze when he saw Amy being tackled to the ground by one of the robots. He didn't hesitate to chaos control to where she was.
"Get your hands off, MY GIRLFRIEND!" Shadow chaos speared the robot, smithering him into bits in pieces at the contact. He bent down to Amy and hugged her close.
"Amy, I thought I lost you! Don't do that to me!" Shadow nuzzled into her shoulder, sobbing. Amy nervously chuckled before sitting up right.
"I'm fine, Shadz. Let's go back home, okay?" Amy patted his back.
"Okay. But I'm not letting go of you until I know you'll be safe!" Shadow picked Amy up bridal style and ignored her demands to put her down. He enjoyed every second of the contact and even walked slower than usual just so he can hold her.
Once the two reached Amy's home, he set her down...sadly. Amy gave him a quick thanks but as she reached for the doorknob Shadow stopped her.
"A rose for a rose, beautiful."
"Oh, Shadow. That's so sweet! Thank you!" Amy grabbed the rose happily and gave a warm smile to Shadow, making his heart flutter.
God, he loved this girl.
"Anything for you, Amy! I'll see you tomorrow, my love!" Shadow chaos controlled away before Amy could correct him. Leaving behind a surprisingly flustered hedgehog.

The next day Amy barely had a chance to wake up when she had already heard a knock at her door. She groaned when she assumed it was Shadow, but to her surprise it was...Sonic?
"Uh, hey Sonic. What brings you here?" Amy welcomed him inside.
"Nothing really. Just bored. Plus, you make some good pancakes." Sonic sniffed the room as he already smelled what Amy was cooking.
"Heh, good thing I made some for two." Which were shockingly meant to be for Shadow...
"Great! Say, I heard Eggman attacked yesterday. Sorry I wasn't there, Tails and I flew to Sally cause she needed some help with her kingdom." Sonic spoke between munched as the two ate breakfast together.
"It's alright. Shadow was there to help me out."
"Heh, Ol' Shadow. That guy's always chasing you around!" Sonic chuckled, reminiscing on the many times he's caught the man hugging her.
"Yeah. He's got a good heart though."
"A heart that beats for you~" Sonic teased.
"Ugh, I'm trying to enjoy my breakfast here!" Amy groaned, earning a laugh from Sonic.
As the two finally broke into a mutually joyful conversation, another knock was at the door, and Amy already knew who it was...
"AMY!" Shadow tackled her to the floor, faint chuckles heard from the kitchen.
"Hey Shadow." Amy greeted, unenthusiastically.
"I missed you so much, my love!" Shadow gave Amy multiple kisses around her face as she hissed.
"Okay, okay! Me too, can you let go?"
"Aw, alright." Shadow slumped. But his body tensed when he saw a certain someone in the kitchen.
"What's he doing here?" Shadow growled, in battling position.
"Woah! Calm down, Shadow! I'm not here to take 'your girl'." Sonic smirked as he heard Amy deny the statement.
"Damn right! This is our home, and she's mine! Did he try anything Amy?" Shadow shuffled around, looking at her body.
"No, Shadow. He's just here for breakfast." Amy sighed.
"Hmph. Well, you look like your finished. So, you better get going." Shadow squinted his eyes at the azure hedgehog who waved his hands defensively.
"Hehe, got it. See ya later, Ames!" Sonic waved to the cheery pink hedgehog.
"Not if I can help it." Shadow mumbled.
"Anyways, what are you here for, Shadow?" Amy turned to face the lovestruck hedgehog.
"To see you of course! Also because I scheduled our date for today-right now!" Shadow tugged on her arm, pleadingly.
"Wait—Shadow! I didn't even get dressed!"
"You look gorgeous in anything, Amy! Let's go! I already have the day planned! First, we're going to go to the amusement park and I'm going to win a stuff animal for you that you'll cherish forever! Then, we're going to get ice cream and I'll lick off your cone and you'll playfully lick mine back! Lastly, we'll watch the night sky and huddle up to each other! I'll lean in and pull you closer to me as our lips touch and then—"
Amy Rose was running for her dear life.
"You can't escape true love!" Shadow called.
Unfortunately, Shadow had caught up to the pink rose and tackled her into the ground once again. Amy sighed as she prepared to be taken on a date.
"Please, Amy! I promise you'll enjoy it! Just let me love you!" Shadow begged the pink hedgehog with puppy eyes, which she couldn't resist.
"Okay, fine. But we're not kissing!" Amy rolled her eyes as Shadow took her hand into his.
"Heh, we'll see about that."
