Cora's POV
I rung out my sopping wet hair before shoving my feet into my shoes, grabbing my backpack and putting Cynthia in it while she still sleeps. I tied my hair up in a ponytail and rushed out the door, locking it behind me.
"Argh! I'm gonna be late!" I ran through the halls, following the signs until I came to the classroom and peaked through in the door. Oh no, it had already started.
"Who's egg has not hatched?" Asked the female teacher. I knocked on the door frame.
"Excuse me...? I'm sorry I'm late." I said, looking down. The teacher glared at me with a pointed look on her face.
"Ms. August I assume?" She questioned. I nodded. "Well, Ms. August. Please take a seat..." She said, gesturing to the empty seat next to Alice. I rushed over and sat down, taking out sleeping Cynthia and putting her on the desk.
"Now back to the lesson. So who's egg has not hatched yet?" The teacher- Ms. Crane, that's what it says on the board— asked the class. A few people raised their hands and looked at the unhatched egg on their desks. I glazed at Cynthia still sleeping peacefully. I kinda zoned out I guess, because when I looked up and Ms. Crane was standing at my desk, looking down at me. "Are you listening Ms. August?" She snapped, eying me.
"No..." I said, looking at my desk.
"I said. What kind of dragon do you have?" She inquired, looking down at her clipboard.
"Uh. A Crystal dragon..." I said quietly.
"Thank you..." Ms. Crane moved on and I sighed in relief.
I sat through the whole class, so bored. The bell rang and I took a deep breath.
"That was so boring..." Alice leaned over, whispers to me. I nodded in agreement and get up and put Cynthia in my bag. She slept through the whole thing, lucky. Once I put her and my books in my bag, she climbed out onto my shoulder and sat there, wagging her tail. I pat her head and stood up and walked out. Thank goodness for free period!
I wandered through the halls, I just felt like exploring. I came to a set of double doors on the main floor. On it, it said: The Dragon Dome.
I glanced around to make sure no one was around and pushed open the doors. I almost fell backwards when I heard a dragon roar. I stepped into the space, closing the door quickly. I looked around in awe, well the name did say it all...
It was a giant metal dome filled with dragons of all kinds. Flying, walking and running around. The door that I came in through came into a green forest. I walked to the centre of the dome, where there was a giant fountain and I noticed something weird.
I turned in a circle, all four seasons were around me. The dome appeared to be divided into fourths, each quarter was a different season. A blonde girl approached me and looked at me confused.
"What are you doing in here? No first years allowed..." She snapped as she started to guide me out.
"I'm sorry... I just saw the sign and I was curious..." I sputtered as she pushed me out the doors.
"Well next time, control your curiousity...." She sneered and closed the doors. What was her problem? She didn't seem much older than 16, so she must be a third year student. I walked back down the hall way and looked at the clock on the wall, 5 minutes till class! Cynthia slept through all that! Wow...
I rushed through the halls, pushing past older students and they yell at me as I elbowed past. I reached the classroom just as the bell rang and sat in the front row, next to a boy with bright blue eyes.
I looked around, I guess Alice wasn't in this class... The boy turned to me. "This teacher is always late..." He said and flashed me a grin. My heart fluttered and I turned forward and tried and hide my blush.
