Chapter Twenty

Cora's POV

Me and Alice sat at the table in our dorm, feasting on the apple pie we bought. "Mmmmm. I love the desserts they make..." I say through a mouth full of pie. The news we just received was shocking but we're not going to let it change our lives. We were happy and we weren't going to let that change.

Both of us had no classes until later tonight, so we called Alex to come see us after dinner. After we finish about 2 thirds of the delicious apple pie, we grab our bags and head out to the library. Alice puts the book in her bag and walks out.

It's kind of chilly out right now, Fall is coming to an end and some frost is on some of the leaves. I have a floral cloak on, holding it tightly around me while Alice is strutting around in her usually classy yet casual outfit, a white dress with blue and pink roses that cuts off at mid thigh. She doesn't have a goose bump on her. I always loved the wardrobe she developed over the last two years.

"How are you not frozen? I shiver, rubbing my arm, pulling my cloak tighter around me. Alice just shrugs and keep walk through the courtyard, getting strange looks from the other cold people. Alice just skips along with out at care...

Alice's POV

Once we reached our spot in the library, we sit and wait on the bench. Reviewing the book I had found.

The rider off The Ice Dragon has the most creative freedom, being the most powerful besides the elusive 5th dragon. Shadow Dragon rider's can be easily corrupted my their magic, turning them into 'The shadow of them self.' The Crystal Dragon Rider, not much is known about this dragon and its magic, it has only existed once before in our history but the thing we do know is that they have immense power with in them. Water Dragon Rider; One of the most wise and useful kinds of dragon magic to know. They include healing abilities, evaporation and more but they may not know it.

The 5th and final dragon has been claimed to be seen many times before but has never been confirmed. The rider of this dragon could very well wipe out the planet by their self.

Wow, just wow. I didn't even know what it say to all this new info. Alex comes a couple minutes later and eyes us suspiciously. "Okay, what's up with you two?" He asks, pointing at us. He sits out cross legged in front of us and I hide the book behind my back. "Nothing! We just needed to talk about something! Plus we haven't hung out in all together in a while!" I stammer. We haven't really hung out as a group since Scarlet went "rouge" and ditched us.

"Read this." I slide the book across the table and it lands in his lap. "Read it quickly and return it to us by tomorrow." Cora says and we stand up quickly and walk away, leaving him confused but informed. "Well we couldn't have been less suspicious." I mutter to her and She nods in agreement.

"We've got study hall. C'mon."

I was sitting at my desk, minding my own business, possibly freezing someone's feet to the ground when someone I'd never seen before approach me. "I would like to talk to you." The girl says, leaning on my desk. "About what?" I say without looking up. "The Great Five" I stop writing and slowly look up. I stare into black eyes and for a second don't even see who it is, only lost in those eyes. I snap out of it and finally look at the person.

Melody June looks down at me with soft yet terrifying eyes. Her face was as clear as freshly fallen snow, her hair such a light shade of blonde it appeared white, maybe it was.

"The what?" I ask unconvincingly. "Come." She grabs by wrist and pulls me from my desk and out into the hall. "What are doing?" I demand, trying my best to keep my voice down.

"Telling you the truth." She whispers and I just stare at her with confusion.

"Since you've received that book, you must be racking your brain on what the 5th dragon race could be. Well I'm here to tell you." She drags me further down the hall until we reach doors that lead outside. How did she know about all of this???

Once we were out in the open grass, she took a step back. "The fifth race of dragon is Light..." She says with a grin and her hair starts to glow.

I jump back as there's swirls and beams of light twirling around Melody. Then there's suddenly a bright flash.

And standing before me in the Mighty Light Dragon, quite the beautiful sight to see.
