No story is complete without an antagonist. An Antagonist is a character whom is the enemy of your main character, and will do just about anything to stop them from achieving their goal.
If you don't have one of these, in one way or another, it's going to take a lot of the feel of the story away.
Your Antagonist doesn't need to appear every chapter, but they should at least have a couple minutes of page time, either interacting with the main character, or even a few moments from their point of view.
Having a chapter from the Antagonists POV is amazing!! It puts an all new perspective into consideration for the reader. Is the antagonist after what the Protagonist describes? Or are they after something completely different?
