Yeonju POV
"the successful rate of the surgery is not high, but we are sure you are strong since you survived the accident."

"but... what if its not successful?"

"you... im sure you will be fine yeonju."

"really younghoon?"

he nodded.

-

nothing much will happen if the surgery isn't successful right...?

im sure i will be okay... right, give myself some confidence, im kim yeonju! the girl who fears nothing!!! ...well nearly nothing actually.

i can't believe this is the first thing im thinking right when i woke up.

i finally free myself from my room, walking downstairs to see younghoon and that two... my parents, they are eating breakfast together, laughing and chatting. i was going to walk straight to the door and leave the house but a voice halted me.

"oh, yeonju! you're awake! come, let's eat breakfast!", it's younghoon.

'why the fuck do you have to see me oh lord...', i cursed mentally as i turned my face to them with a forceful smile. "no thanks, im meeting my friends.", before he can stop me physically, i quickly dashed out of the house.

i walked to wherever my legs brought me, hyunjae's place. seriously???

i rang on hyunjae's house doorbell. seconds later i can hear someone fell down and a whimper from the latter. i held on my laughter, don't laugh yeonju don't laugh yeonju don't laugh y—

the door opened and it revealed well-dressed messy-curly-haired boy, "yeonju?" i waved at him, awkwardly, "oh, hi. can i... come in?"

he just stood there, blinks blankly, before he finally reacts and let me in, "oh- sure, come in." i gave him a smile as i took off my shoes and went into his place.

"it's so early, have you eaten breakfast?", he asked. i shook my head, "no..." "gosh you are really troublesome, what do you want to eat?", he asked as he walked to the kitchen.

"anything you eat."

he hummed, "okay then... while you are here, help me look after darong please." i nodded, "okay."

in a blink of an eye, darong is already on my lap, resting herself there. i let out a smile as i patted, "good girl you are darongie." she jumped down to the ground and jumped around as she barked happily.

"you're so cute oh my god.", i exclaimed as i played with her.

"breakfast is ready yeonju!", i carried darongie to the dining table as hyunjae placed down the plates, nicely. "oooh, pancakes!", i cheered as i looked at the menu.

"your favourite.", he said. "you really do remember a lot of things...", i said, with envious. "of course, younghoon is my childhood friend, and you are younghoon's twin sister, so you are my childhood friend too.", he replied.

i smiled, "ah right..." 'not like me who don't even remember this...', i thought.

he took over darongie from my arms and put her down. she ran to her plate and started barking, looking at hyunjae. "i got it boss, your breakfast is coming too~", he sang, walking to her with dog food.

darongie jumped around happily and let out a bark as hyunjae scooped the food onto her plate. he patted her head, "eat well." and that darongie started eating.

i smiled, the scene is so heartwarming.

he washed his hands and went to sit in front of me, "eat, yeonju." i nodded and took a bite of the pancakes, "yah it tastes so good!" i took a bigger bite right after and he laughed, "eat slowly, gosh."

after breakfast, he said he wanted to bring darongie on a walk. i insisted to follow him and fortunately, he allowed.

we are now walking darongie around the neighbourhood. darongie was so excited that she ran the whole journey and so it became darongie walking us.

hyunjae carried darongie on his arms as we rested inside a café after running. he got himself a mint chocolate smoothie while i got myself an iced coffee.

"right, why are you here by the way?" he asked suddenly after a sip of his drink. i looked at him and shrugged, "i don't know... maybe it's because i missed darongie?" he chuckled, "you could've come during lunchtime gosh i thought it was some emergency that i rushed all the way down and even tripped myself over."

i laughed, "sorry then." he shook his head, "its fine." we settled down and continued drinking our respectively ordered drink.

"oh by the way." he looked at me and hummed as i spoke."i need advice, jae.", i said and he just nodded, ready to listen.

i smiled, "our parents are back, alive. they said that i lost memories during the accident, and they had to leave us because i cried whenever i saw them. now they're at home, with younghoon. yesterday they told me that they wanted to bring us to china in a month, to treat my illness. the success rate is not high. i don't wanna go..."

i looked at the boy who looked confused, "wow. so your parents... never died?" i nodded at his statement and took a sip of the coffee. "do you know what will happened if the surgery did not go well...?", he asked. i shook my head, "younghoon just said that i will be okay because im strong enough."

he nodded, "so are you asking me if you should go or not?" he really can read people omg, i nodded, "yeah..."

"is your illness only lose memories?", he asked and i nodded. "they said i will keep losing memories in the future, too.", i looked down at my coffee, mixing it well with the straw as i spoke.

"as much as i don't want you to go..."

i looked at him.

"go. i don't want you to forget me in the future.", he said. i nodded, "right...", i smiled bitterly. what if i don't survive in the surgery?
